  1. I think King Gavilar was gay, Navani says that she had plenty of reason to cheat and that Gavilar was not the man Dalinar thought he was but that she missed him. It would also explain why Sadeas was so loyal to him and then to Elhokar if he was in a secret relationship with him (and I can really see this revelation coming out in an argument about loyalty involving Sadeas, Dalinar and Elhokar) also Sadeas having children is never mentioned. Just a theory but I think this could be a good way for BS to introduce a gay character that is key to the plot. I also think that Kaladin will return to Hearthstone because Amaram will tell Sadeas about Kaladin after their first tense meeting (can't wait for that bit ), and as a way to get back at Kaladin, Sadeas will send people to kill Kaladin's parents (or something). After finding out about this Kaladin will go back home and hilarity will ensue. Dalinar will die at somepoint, most likely after book 2 but you never know with Brandon. Renarin will be important, no evidence other than Hoid taking an interest and now that he has just plate he may be like Dalinar was in plate (glowing like when he fought the chasmfiend), as I think he will be a radiant (also Syl didn't seem bothered by plate, perhaps blades of Odium and Plate of Cultivation) Can definitely see Kaladin/Shallan or maybe a Kaladin/Laral after his return to Hearthstone (I also like a Renarin/Shallan/Adolin love triangle) Some members of Bridge 4 will die (Moash?) Sure Elhokar will die at somepoint Would love it if Jasnah eventually held the Shard of Honour, having a heretic become a God would be hilarious
  2. I thought that the Honourblades were splinters held by the Heralds, who had been changed by Honour or the Oathpact to live longer (still alive 4500 years after giving up their blades) and as part of the oathpact had to go to be tortured until the next desolation, probably to keep Odium at bay. Also in the prelude Kalak calls Jezrien a king, does this just mean King of the Heralds or does it mean he was a normal King before Odium kicked them out of the Tranqualine Halls? I was sure the Almighty was just Honour, have I been reading the wrong threads? There may be something to the permanent and temporary but what about the end-positive, neutral and negative? and can't anyone become a shard or a sliver (if holding a big enough part of the Shard)
  3. Is stormlight 2 being released in hardbook late 2013 and paperback 2014 or is the date of the first release one of the two? And I hope the Mistborn game has a Tensoon cameo edited the 3013 to 2013
  4. I don't think they're a practice module as the KR tells Heb (Dalinar) to come to Urithiru (spelling?) to get his training. But they may be a way for the person in the visions to keep on seeing them by acting honourably? so they can continue to learn about the KR from Honour
  5. yeah so I suppose Szeth and his shardblade are more likely to be end-neutral because Kaladin has his nahel bond with Syl (so end positive) whilst Szeth doesn't have a spren so will use stormlight less effectively. But I still think that there's a chance that Szeth's shardblade has something to do with an end-negative magic as I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that Szeth's blade is unique so maybe it's as Wonko says and he has a rare negative investiture
  6. Fair point, the tower and crown referring to house Kholin and the spear referring to war.
  7. Yes but because of a Shards foresight wouldn't Honour have been able to do an educated guess, (sort of) that what the person taking part in the visions said was important to the ultimate goal of the visions which as far as I know, is to restore the Radiants. As without Dalinar trusting Sadeus, Kaladin wouldn't have said the second ideal (so early) and Dalinar wouldn't have given up his blade, which Syl hates so he may form a nahel bond in book 2 making it 'important'. (in respone to #6)
  8. To me-besides Taravangian-the biggest surprise was when Dalinar walks up to Elhokar and beats him up (sort of), although the Lord Ruler turning out to have saved Scadrial and prepared for disaster to save the people was a little surprising
  9. Can Szeth's shardblade be in some way related to a magic system similar to Hemalurgy. As Szeth is not a Radiant yet has powers (sure it comes from the blade) and he is not able to hold stormlight as well or as long as Kaladin, so could Szeth's blade be related to Hemalurgy (or similar, their are many magic systems on Roshar that we don't know about and in the ars arcanum of alloy it says that Hemalurgy is the most interest to the Cosmere, or soething like that) as it gives weaker effects of the same power. Feel free to poke holes
  10. I think it unlikely that they merged as I think that only the shard can merge no the people holding them (Harmony). Although the Knights Radiant could be a 'merge' of Honour and Cultivation as I'm sure I remember a quote from BS or a 17th Sharder (I think but am not certain) that some Spren are of Honour and others of Cultivation
  11. I agree with Senor and thought I'd ask a question of my own In Dalinar's visions when asking if he should trust Sadeus (and I'm sure a few other times, haven't reread TWoK in a while) Honour says that it is important. Whilst we know the visions are a journal did Honour definitely know what the person seeing the visions said at those points would be important? (as it led to Kaladin saving Dalinar and joining his warcamp and Kaladin progressing as a Knights Radient).
  12. Hi, I'm a big fan of Brandon and the Cosmere (especially the Stormlight Archive, can't wait for book 2). Just saying hello.
