Hey could I get your guys' feedback on a thing?
In school there's a thing called UIL Congress where we write bills and then simulate congress by argueing for and against bills then voting
There are also national competitions and I'm trying out for our school team
I wrote a bill and I'll have to give a speech promoting it and then defend it against someone's anti-bill speech
And also defend it as the judges ask a bunch of questions about it
Anyways here's the bill
A Bill to Regulate the Obtainment of Firearms
BE IT ENACTED BY THIS UIL CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:
SECTION 1. Civilian persons must be a minimum of 21 years old and undergo a mandatory 30-day course on firearms safety and use before being licensed to carry.
SECTION 2. Course instructors must be licensed by the state. Regulations apply to firearms of all lengths and calibers.
SECTION 3. To be enforced by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Violations to carry a minimum penalty of 5 years incarceration and $1,000 fine.
SECTION 4. To be implemented January 1st, 2026
SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.
Thoughts, queries, criticisms?
I'm trying to get all the questions and criticisms now so I'll be ready by the time I have to defend it to the judges
