I completely accept that. I simply offer that, while I wholeheartedly agree that these relationships don't have to become romantic, that doesn"t mean they have to stay platonic. I offer this from LewsTherinTelescope:

It isn't shipping I'm against. I think Kim Dokja and Yoo Jonghyuck want to make out far more than there is any reason for it being.

I just think that Kal and Syl's bond is just so remarkably platonic, and there isn't that much platonic representation in media. Opposite sex (and sometimes same sex) best friends often become romantic, and I think it's nice that for once, they aren't in love because why wouldn't they be. I think that often romance is the standard, and is assumed in most circumstances. Brandon will probably never write any sort of aromantic characters (not that I would expect him too), cause we are just such a small minority. But I like just that little bit of representation of maybe not having the male/female friendship become romantic. I think brandon fully intends for it to stay a friendship, and pushing against that towards a more romantic relationship feels like you are saying "Well one of them is male, the other is female so why wouldn't they be in love?"

Ok here let me present my *real* case

I am aromantic. Yeah sure, most people might not feel things this way because of their differences, but many people do share this perspective I have despite them maybe not being aromantic.

I do not feel romantic attraction. So instead, I place a lot of value on platonic love. I don't like it being seen as 'lesser', because I just don't see it that way. So the idea that 'oh they are nice to each other so they must be looooooove' is an idea that I hate. I hate it with all my being because I can love people with all my heart and soul, just as friend. So when people ship 2 people (or beings) from which there is absolutely no standard for, I despise it. Because it feels like you are saying, "people can't love like that and just be friends. If 2 people show a healthy relationship, they are either in love or its all a sham". And I don't like that because I don't feel love. So calling all my relationships in which I feel real feelings 'not real' hurts.
