Still glaring around the room, Charlie handed Jynx sunglasses from their pocket. "I didn't forget them. Don't worry." Charlie nodded at it, jaw tightening. silent.

"Damnit!" Charlie looked Panicked. Panicked and angry. They rushed over to Jynx, yanking their long coat off their shoulder, dropping their sword to the ground with a clang. They stepping in front of Jynx, holding their coat up around her and hiding her. "Damn damn damn DAMN! I'm sorry Jynx, here, hold this." They put the coat-shield in Jynx's hands and yanked off the hoody they had on under the coat, leaving only a thin tee shirt. "Here, you can use this. It should cover you." Charlie glared around the cave. How dare he negate their powers!?

Well damn. Looked like it was hard to keep secrets from Ivisyre. "I have something that he wants. I learned a lot from that bit of metal you gave me. Also, he's not a narrator, and doesn't know he has a narrationblade. Either way, you asked me for help and I am giving it." "His name," Ryver hesitated, "Is Cadewyn." "Now, you all stay back." He waved them all back, "I'll go talk to him." Ryver walked along the back of the turtle toward Cadewyn and Eepy. "Hey there! Cadewyn! I need your help." The man whipped around, one hand going to the sword on his back, blue light trailing from his left draconian eye. "And I can bring you to a place with enough ambient power to swear your oath and transform. Yes, I know about Emberlings. Yes, I support you in your cause." Cadewyn tucked Eepy behind him, clinging to the back of his coat. "What do you mean 'ambient power' this is normal!?" "Oh come on! You've felt it here! There is less energy in the air, less motion. Too little for you to change. You know what I mean!" Cadewyn hesitated. He did know what this stranger meant. He had been waiting till the right moment, but this place was wrong. "...Fine. It is. What do you want of me?" "I want your blade, Cadewyn. The one called Resolution, that you wear. I want your help in a fight." He stepped close and whispered, so the others couldn't hear, "and I want you to help me take down a slimy power hungry person, bent on revenge. I hear you're good at that. I need fire." "Can you promise Eepy won't be harmed?" "After the transformation, her scales will be as hard as adamant, right? I think she'll be ok." "Very well." Cadewyn clasped Ryver's hand. "And what is your name? You seem to know mine." "I go by Ryver. But I am also called–" he leaned in a barely whispered, "Nikkō." The sunlight wavered around them and his hair glowed. Fire flared in Cadewyn at that name. He shivered. "Ok. Let's go."

Ryver glanced between the two of them, noting that Ivisyre had seemed to repair the orb. Huh. He'd thought that if Ivisyre had needed someone to make it, then he couldn't manipulate it himself. Seemed he was wrong. Oh well. "For one thing, Ivisyre, Subversion seems to think we need backup and she also seems to know how the last fight went. For another, I've met Sequence, and even the ability to appear in many places at once is one that is very hard to fight without some form of Area of Effect damage, to hit multiple enemies. That over there is another of my author's people, though barely Thread aware and not author aware at all." He looked at Subversion again and tried to send her a message the way she had sent him one, though he wasn't quite sure how to do it or if he had done it right. "He also has a very unusual narrationblade." "And on top of all that, Ivisyre, if you are banned from Sequence's world, and if you spent any great amount of time in that world we just came from, do you not think it might be wise to take a long way around as it were, popping through a few different worlds so it doesn't look like we just went from yours to hers?"

Very true on both counts. To be more clear, I meant the fact that Hoid's identity remained intact for that whole ordeal, and could just go to a new body.

From what we saw Hoid do at the end of WaT: I think that the idea of moving identity from one body to another to swap them isn't far fetched at all, especially if you use Hemalurgy.
