    No, it wasn’t. It was a theory a while back that I think actually came from Dawnshard book. Just a theory, not actually confirmed in any way. btw twice as in two times but one event Exist Exist Break Break… Exist to Exist while Separating to separate… hmmm Exist to move and move to separate… Perhaps, but that ordering of it is very tentative.

    Hhhmmmmmm Illumination, I’d say, fits well with Exist. I don’t want to say Lightweaving, because it is also Truthwatching - tied to manifesting versions of the truth. Lightweavers, though, are closely tied to creation. And they can put some (albeit limited) amount of matter into their creations, can make sound, etc. I think… hmmm… if it were to be swapped, I’d say division? Transportation comes from Elsecalling, which is not just stormlight. I actually really like this one. yeah my theorycrafting was disorganized bc I actually had like two separate sessions of writing this out Yeah, I was trying to get at the involvement of spren in the surges. Like, a Spren’s perception of a surge affects it. Another thing that occurred to me. It’s short, I swear. Perception weakens investiture. (I say that as fact but it’s theory don’t worry). Example: Minor Spren vs Major spren. Minor Spren are much less powerful than major ones, but are much more varied, whereas the Major Spren have only ten varieties.

    Okay okay okay So I know Dawnshards have been discussed over and over, but I brought something up in a thread and I thought it was significant enough that it needed a thread to itself. The theory: Microkinetic/Common manifestation of investiture (no I shall not be abbreviating!) stem from the nature of Dawnshards It’s a pretty common theory now that I see that Ado was shattered twice, and that the intent of the Dawnshards were combined to form 16 unique intents. I agree with this Ruin is sometimes pointed to as Change-Change intent, which i utterly disagree with, given Sigzil and Hoid’s torment. The Dawnshards I propose are Move, from Elsecalling (Elsecalling is a very common MoI). This makes sense to me - it would be like, a robot isn’t truly a robot until it moves. Unless it acts, it isn’t really alive. Break (word I got for this is awkward, but it should be a bit more about becoming independent), from Division (Division is what makes Microkinesis boom boom). This makes sense to me as well - a child is not the same as the parent, and breaks away to their own path. Where change is the following of this path, this would determine the path. Move would be embodying their path. The order I’m thinking these words would be: Exist, Break, Change, Move (Become Something), (Separate [that may be better word choice] from me), (Evolve/Change/Progress), (Live) So imma expand on this in a spoiler

    Okay, imma organize my writing to reply to that bc I need organization on mobile not cuz it’s an attack and spoilers for length and I think I’m done maybe ill add some of this to my og post for people that are just looking at that.     I mean, with enough inestiture… Investiture destroys anti investiture, not just vice versa. But yeah it would have to be a heck of a lot of investiture.

    Not really. The more versatile the players are, the less power the GMs have. It would be more frustrating if the GM wants to challenge the player, since they would have to go to great lengths to do so. Essentially, it would feel to the player as if the GM just told them that they just died, instead of giving them something they can overcome through wit or some other mechanism. (NO OTHER GMS IM NOT GRIPING ABOUT THE GREENSPINE) (TOTALLY)

    Usually, the amount of powers are made to match the games. And in the games, versatility is so much more important than shear power. If the GMs want to pit a monster against you, they’ll pit one according to your power level. But if you have something that allows you to ignore the monster, or if you have something to negate the threat (redspine was beat with words, not blades!), then you don’t need firepower. Sure, steel compounding has versatility. You can move fast, and you can steelpush. effective flight n stuff. But… that kinda just lets you run. You negate the threat, and then the next thing, you can’t run from. You can’t go faster than you control, which means that compounding is only as useful as regular feruchemy for finer movements. And you can’t use it to multiply the force of attacks, cuz if you punch someone at 50 times speed, your arm gets the exact same impact, and would probably rip of / you would die. Aethers arent limited the same way. Aether user info from Aether of Night novel: The point is Both Roseite and Verdant aethers are just so extremely versatile a roseite is the equivalent to living shardplate + living shardblade A verdant is very powerful outside of and within combat. And while powers were allowed in previous games, they must be balanced (I know I just called steelcompounding balanced don’t hurt me), with the theme and with the players - these Aethers seem very difficult to balance and fit well into a game.
