He shook his head. “I have no memory of this.. but… she is telling me of it’s truth.”

Ann nodded. “Bard, you gotta tell him! And he’s going to save us!” The Wind turned to him. “Hello, Alym.”

As you wish. He felt a surge of power within him, and his sight flashed green for a moment. As it cleared, he found that he was able to feel the life energy of his surroundings.

Then I would grant you Power. Choose. Dominance over souls, Mastery over your own. Or, you may have the power of Instinct, feeling the flow of souls.

He slumped, looking back. “It’s safe. Just… don’t touch the Blight.” Indeed, the Blight spread through the land, twisting trees to unnatural shapes. A green ooze spread across the land. Semwyn. You have taken the first step. Unbranded, unblemished, you blaze this path. The route ahead is dangerous. The Blight is performing its purpose… a dark one. Are you certain this is what you wish?

Speak to the Wind, the one pretending to be Death. He has a plan for you. The man was still speaking with the noble that had let them in to the manor. @Ookla the Rubber Duck Nikolas frowned. “You’re saying she is my biological sister?”

Gerith nodded, stepping through the Gate and into the Blight. Where he heard her voice so much louder. The others could see him reacting, but could not hear her.

Gerith looked around, frowning. “Do we just… go, now?” He coughed, but turned to the rest of the heretics. The Serpent King’s Emissary had already turned away, leaving them.

The physical brand is on their right wrist.

Ann turned, nodded. “I knew it! That’s him, isn’t it?” Nikolas frowned. “Who are you?” She stepped next to him. “I’m your sister, and you were sent here to save us all! We can’t get out, we’re running out of coal, and the manor is collapsing.”

As they neared the Gate, Gerith knew. He knew that he couldn’t run. He just couldn’t. There were six other “heretics” with him, being led by the Serpent King’s emissary—who wore an imposing, pearly white cloak over heavy armor. When they arrived at the gate, the emissary turned back, regarding the group. “You have been branded… heretics. To escape this brand, you must either die… or you must complete the Holy Pilgrimage. You must find the path that you forsook.” He raised a hand, and the heavy doors of the Gate began to open. “You must travel to Dragon’s rest, straight north from the Gate, through the Blighted Lands.” He turned. “You may run. Many, in fact, choose this. We will not stop you. But you will still have the brand, and you will no longer have your life.” Gerith shivered, looking down. He didn’t have a life anyways. Not since the plague had hit his town. ”Your pilgrimage begins… now.”

…and that’s all the reaction you have? @Ookla the Rubber Duck Nikolas looked to the bard, frowning. “Where am I?” The path was short - as if the cart was already mostly there. At the entrance to the settlement, a short, masked figure stepped out towards her. ”Who do you run with? You one the Noble crowd?”
