  1. My main character is turning a space suit mini-fusion reactor into a flamethrower. Yes, this is a good idea.

One fuel intake is reactor fuel, which will power the mechanism.

The other fuel intake is pulled off, but the output control is used to safely eject flammable material at a controlled rate.

The electrical output of the reactor is hotwired, the cable split between hot and neutral, which then are stripped and the space-suit's metal mesh is wrapped around the exposed wires, sending the circuit through the only a material only slightly conductive.

Those wires are placed in front of the flammable output.

Would this work irl? Dunno. The fusion reactor is very scifi, of course. But as long as the flammable material is volatile enough... could work.

I can do nuclear fission with my pinky toeΒ

Wait... Fusion reactors typically take in hydrogen, which is already flammable - that's astronomically safer than trying to take apart a still working reactor chamber.Β

Nah, because he needs a way to get the fuel out of the main circulation.

He didn’t actually modify the chamber itself, just the fuel intake.

Plus, I wasn’t sure the spark point of the less processed materials, and I don’t know if the hotwiring is enough to set that on fire.
