  1. “Hey hey hey! If you live in a dungeon, we can find it. And we can totally free your friends.” The Archstone is quite a wonder! I make anyone else who shouldn’t pay attention to us instantly forget what they noticed. Onyx?!?! Ya know, I’ve only seen him from Erif’s POV
  2. “Perhaps Destruction and Nullification are a danger. But trust me. She can enter any mind. Madness is not a woman off the side of the road who decided to attack. She has… power.” A voice entered Bacon’s mind. Don’t worry. I’m taking the proper precautions.
  3. Let me show him. Intellect said. You don’t understand. Madness, even without the Archstone, even if she was bound away from reality, could turn some of the most mentally fortuitous. And she has the Archstone. Do not underestimate her. And who knows what else is in this jumble? This is just a small fraction of the functionality of the Archstone. Besides. Can you Destroy something that is literally Worlds away? You might wonder how I got into your mind. Madness could alter one’s mind just as easily as I infiltrated yours. Likely easier, as that is her specialty. Tull approached Sasha. “You. Alive. Yes?” He shook her shoulder, able to connect using his Narration.
  4. “And how did you like Bacon the Tax Collector?”
  5. “Insane is a term I use liberally. Because where I come from, any mental ailment came from Madness. Yes, he may be insane, but what if Madness forced an alter ego upon him? She did it to Bacon the Bard. And to her, Destruction is Creation. Anything that could hurt her. She created it to withstand Rage, who’s goal was to destroy her creations.. And she is part of the Narrator’s brains, now. If’n you did manage to get rid of it, it’s just a sanitized copy. She can just conjure up another one. And if you destroy the original, she can just make another.” Tull looked at Sasha. “So what if you’re incorporeal? That’s pretty awesome. No one can hurt you now! Well, other than…” he shivered “Madness.”
  6. Ista shook her head like it was obvious. “The actual stone isn’t in the thread. A sanitized copy is what she’s using. And it has mechanisms to stop hostile Narration.” Ista pointed to a small part among the jumble. “See here? Whenever an anyone with world building powers even thinks against it or anything it protects, it immediately retaliates, turning them insane, or at least changing them enough to make sure that they wouldn’t Narrate against it.” ————— Tull looked to Sasha. “Hey! Why would that matter, you being dead?”
  7. I was looking at the profiles of the older people and I saw that Rue left 5 days before I joined… And then I saw that Thaidakar left, then was banned… not too long before I joined.
  8. I continue having my lunch, but on Titan.
  9. I guess that makes me but a babe in swaddling cloth.
  10. “She is my master’s greatest enemy. My master is Intellect. Without protection, Madness has the ability to get into your mind, to drive anyone insane. She is not of this world.” Ista frowned, and the air around her turned colder. She did this by instinct. Madness unnerved her. She will not give up. How will we contain her? She asked. Perhaps the Archstone may give us a clue. Hang on. Focus on that patch of ground. I’m going to copy the design of the Archstone using your ice abilities. She complied, and an incredibly complex, intricate, mess of logic was ingraved in the ground. “This is how Madness focuses her power.”
  11. Ista nodded. “But what about Madness? You can’t recruit her, and she is a force to be reckoned with.”
  12. Sorry. I'll leave you alone. But I need to make you aware of how dangerous she is. I misspoke. Maybe there are thoughts that can't be affected. But Madness uses her power, not to stop the thoughts, but to turn you into the sort of person that wouldn't Narrate her. No part of your mind is safe from her when she connects to you. She is still connected, but I am holding at bay most of the insanity. She is very dangerous. Be wary of her. With that, Intellect left her mind. Ista saw Subversion arrive on the mount. She gave her a small nod, and a summary of the words of the Great Wizard. If Subversion listened to her thoughts, she would hear her conversing with Intellect. Tull saw Subversion arrive on the mount. He gave her a sympathetic smile. He too had been subject to Madness' attention. Jilu saw five people arrive on the mount. She recognized all but two, a woman in blue robes and ghost girl. She decided not to question it.
  13. Intellect grinned. Finally. He waved a hand, and all of Madness’ influence vanished. You wouldn’t have been able to beat her. If you tried to Narrate her, she would have just driven you insane, taking control of your mind before you could form the thought to hurt her. The mechanism is all in the Archstone. Such a complex device… genius. Ista. Subversion accepted my help. You can trust her now. Ista heard this, and straightened. “Never mind! Subversion accepted our help and is now free of Madness. You can trust her again.”
  14. Valient grinned, even as she died. Leave, child? No. I have given you a task. Complete it before I punish you, you petulant fool. I will not tolerate rebellion. Intellect appeared before her. I think you need help. Just accept my help, and I can get rid of her. Please. Before it is too late. btw @xinoehp512, Erif and Tull (and Ista) are back at the mountain. Tull teleported them back a little while ago. Eh I’m bored. Tull popped into the mountains, seeing the Great Wizard and hearing the guidance. It seemed this wouldn’t be the last time he faced Madness. Ista looked around, seeing a multitude of people and feeling the cold revitalize her. The wizard’s mention of Madness got her interest. Waiting until he finished speaking, she made her way into the conversation. “Madness is here. And Subversion is serving her.” A pause. “But we can help.”
  15. Valient grinned. Again. You do not understand, child. I already rule multiple worlds. Including my own, where my power dwarves yours. You think that Narration is powerful? Madness’ voice boomed, and echoed, different tones, like an insane chorus. I am creation. I created my world, and I commanded every individual. Subversion’s vision shifted, and she could see Madness in the fullness of her power. I will take this fake world. And I will study it. Find your weaknesses. Because I do not want all of TLT. I want everything. Do not presume to be able to stop me. Valient smiled, and Subversion saw her death, over and over.
  16. Madness continued. I want power, of course. I want all to bend to my will. And for that, I need more Narrators. Valient smiled grimly. I don’t think you understand. You are not in position to make demands of me, child.
  17. “You. Lead us to vault. Get riches. Good? Let’s go.”
  18. Huuuuuuuh?!? You gave me a Narrator Servant of Madness?!??!?!?!??!? Hehehe… the power at my disposal. Madness laughed. You have come to your senses. That won’t happen again, though. Her voice shifted, and it was Valient’s. Subversion could see Valient approach, and Valient spoke. What I want is something that you alone cannot give. But you can help. I need more Narrators. A gift. I grant you this. You are… maybe not immune… but it will be much more difficult to Narrate you. —————— Intellect saw this and immediately began a long string of curses. Well, I’m going to need to warn Ista. Ista. Subversion is now a willing Servant of Madness. Don’t let anyone near you trust her. I’ll have to give you the same protections… this Archstone is quite a wonder. —————— Ista told her companions, as well as explained the nature of Madness, Intellect, Rage, and Mirth to them.
  19. But they must all make it. All of them. As long as there is one, I am here. Imma go to bed.
  20. "Ask Subversion when she gets back. Or Bacon the Bard. Just can we please get back?" Tull nodded, and he teleported them back. "Here we are."
  21. Well since I am part of the Narrators' minds, I cannot be Narrated away unless the Narrators all disappear. And since Intellect is my fellow Great Spirit, I can't be affected without him being affected. Ista took the punch in the face, not missing a step. "Please. Be civil. I just saved you guys from Berin, or, as you may know him, Wrath. Now let's go. Intellect has taken an interest in you."
  22. Madness retorted. The Narrators aren't native, true. And does this not stop them from Narrating each other out of existence? Tull came to, and he saw a woman behind Erif. Wearing blue robes, she had an air of mystery. He sensed her communicating with two people, whom she referred to as Mirth and Intellect. He felt comfort come to him suddenly, an unnatural feeling. She talked. "Do you guys mind if I tag along?"
  23. Madness laughed. A warning? Child. You cannot run from me; you cannot kill me. I am just an idea. We are Connected, though. And to break that connection means death to you. Intellect heard this, and he appeared to Subversion. Hey! Wanna get away from Madness and not die? Intellect Connected to Subversion, and banished Madness' influence. There! Also, do you want me to teach you how to use that there Blade? It is a figment of your imagination, but it's a pretty useful one. Its effects cannot be Narrated away, you see. It lets you give any hallucinations you wish to anyone hit by it. And since its imaginary, "hit" can bend the rules. Tull was still writhing on the ground. Intellect noticed this and freed him from Madness. Sorry. Forgot about you. Tull stopped, looking up to Erif's face. "Are... Are you real?"
  24. Madness glared at the guinea pig telepathically. Perhaps I was not clear. I am not native to this Thread. This TLT. Wasn't Yrank mad at Subversion for murdering someone? @The H BTW Bacon the Tax Collector is Bacon the Bard's alter ego that took control of his body. Madness screamed in frustration. Intellect was meddling again. She checked on Wrath and saw him weeping with Ista! She communicated with Bacon the Bard. No! You cannot escape me! She turned to Subversion, whom Intellect had given a Blade. She twisted her emotions, driving her Mad with guilt for the death of Valient. Hey did you read all the stuff I said? Intellect freed you and gave you a mysterious blade.
