Think about it.
The definition of figurative language implies saying something but meaning another thing.
Saying smt like the “house is figuratively on fire!” gets rid of the figurative effect because you are stating the meaning of the sentence
But if you say the house is literally on fire, you enhance the figurative effect by adding more absolute language. Using literally in a figurative sense is actually more correct than using figuratively.
