  1. Something I've been thinking about. In Rhythm of War the Sibling refers to Adhesion as "Honor's Truest Surge." In the same book Raboniel calls it not a true Surge. I can understand that argument since many entities in the Cosmere can manipulate Connection to a degree, but this got me wondering. Is there any references of certain Shards having more/high affinity to certain surges? Like is it stated anywhere that Regrowth is Cultivation's Surge for example? Or Division being Ruin's?
  2. Seems to me that at the current time the Unoathed will only be former Deadeye spren. Seems like the condition is that they understand/believe that oaths are not everything. Given that all the Recreance Deadeyes chose to end their Nahel bonds with their Radiants. However given this line of thought it might exclude certain former Deadeye spren like Vienta who certainly did not want to and was angry with Sigzil for what he did. We might not see any Unoathed highspren either since the Skybreakers never renounced their oaths. Though I suppose Auxiliary might technically be an Unoathed now given the events of Sunlit Man. But that might not mean anything since Aux's consciousness was burned away. Notum is also a curious case because he is present and aware in the Physical realm without having a bond. I suspect it's either he too recognizes the strength of humans able to change their minds. Or maybe the Tukari attacking him did something to change him
  3. I don't think a fourth Shard is present on Roshar. Just too out of left field. My current theory is that the old Nohadon we see in the stranger visions are similar situation to the "The Blackthorn" spren. Nohadon is a legend himself and many thought of him, though less so after the Recreance. But probably enough in that time to give way to a Nohadon spren. There is one curious part in Chapter 122 where Tanavast remarks on Nohadon. Question if he should have insisted on Nohadon gaining immortality. For the purpose of studying him longer. That says to me that Tanavast made the offer and Nohadon rejected it. Would be a nice tie in to the fourth parable epigraph too. It's also convenient that Dalinar and Navani completely skipped over visions of Nahadon and the first generation of Knights Radiant so we don't actually see what happened in those days.
  4. In regards to the Four Tones bit, for those that wish to reread, it's Chapter 60: Come and See. Chapter starts from Adolin's POV and then switches to Venli where she views the chasmfiends singing with four tones. I personally hate the idea of a 4th Shard being on Roshar all this time. However Valor is a dragon and Wit says they are "tricky lizards who hide where you least expect them" in chapter 21 of Wind and Truth. But there is a lot of weird stuff about Natanatan/Narak/The Shattered Plains. Site of the fourth moon/dead moon crash sight. At some point before the Shattering Roshar had a 4th moon. Shattered Plains seems to be where it fell. But my gut says fragments of the moon probably scattered all over Roshar. See point 6 In the past when Odium and Honor clash at Natanatan. Their brief fight seems to create anti-light. My question is does this happen whenever a Shard clashes or is it a result of the moon fragments underneath Natanatan? The metal under Narak, fragments of the dead moon, can hide things from the Shards. There were people that were previously hidden from Tanavast that he sees while Natanatan is being destroyed. He calls them Watchers so maybe the Sleepless. Tanavast concludes this metal is something "greater than aluminum" Natanatan is destroyed in a cymatic pattern becoming the Shattered plains. All the dawn cities cymatic patterns of their own. Are moon fragments under Kholinar, Vedenar, etc? Odium ends up placing his perpendicularity there? I'm not exactly sure on this point. It seems like that's what it is in Venli chapters and the he places it there after Ba-Ado-Mishram attempted to usurp his power. And at the end of the book the pool fills with the Black and Blue light and Venli hears the Rhythm of War/Retribution's tone. I'm beginning to wonder if these moon fragments being "greater than aluminum" is something like Duralumin. Acting as an investiture amplifier or something. Might explain why when the Highstorm and the Everstorm initially clashed it was so violent.
  5. Personally I'm leaning away from the influence of another Shard angle. Perhaps since plate spren being a collection of the spren created by Adonalsium they are drawing on raw investiture instead of it being keyed to a specific Shard. Alternatively, if all plate spren since the founding of the Knights Radiant are considered "of Honor" perhaps this is one of the signs that Honor, the Shard, is starting to change and grow beyond the strictest of bonds and oaths.
  6. Fair point. I guess I just expect more from T/Odium at this point in the story. Something more subtle. Most of that thought for me stems from the last conversation Dalinar and Taravangian had in Rhythm of War.
  7. I've been thinking about this a lot. The way I see it T/Odium is either About to go on the mad dash conquer spree/weaken the Radiants as much as possible in the final 10 days. I find this one the least likely. As of now Shallan's plot is barreling towards Ba-Ado-Mishram. Could be T/Odium is racing to free her first, or he wants Mishram to stay imprisoned. Cleaning house so to speak. Anyone related to Sja-Anat, even though she helped Taravangian ascend. Shallan has less of a relation to her than Renarin and Rlain now. But still feels like there is more to that plot thread. Plus Renarin and Rlain have the ability to cloud the future sight.
