  1. If Asharak's plan had worked, the signals from the song would be disrupting the signals of Rebus's own nanites? Perchance? Dang I didn't get to it in time. That would've been helpful for my plans
  2. I wanna come! I wanna be a Ranger!!
  3. War being neither fair nor unfair, but a simple force
  4. As they poked at it, they became aware somewhat of the edge of Aeryn's Mindscape.
  5. Erryin could feel a very slight presence at the edge of her awareness.
  6. @Ashkaloda The two appeared high up on a mountain, looking over a frozen plain. Not the solution I expected, but I like it
  7. Dude you gotta ping me. There's so much activity rn I miss this stuff most of the time There is a vague sense of response that is quickly cut off. Remind me what those do?
  8. The various color associations I have. Just for reference and stuff (and if you wanna know more about any of my TLT characters or anything) Blue: connection Red: pain Black: failure Purple: mischief (can be a hint of evil) Green: pride Gold: Innocence, youth White: potential & possibility Brown: trust Orange: ferocity, passion Pink: love, reverence Hazel: change
  9. Alright That was fine by Asharak, because he didn't need to get through—he just needed to get through them. As the nanites interfaced, the Mindscape followed, blasting Sabotage (Beastie Boys) straight across the network. No I didn't steal this idea wdym (yeah I stole it).
  10. Peak fiction I've reread that series so many times now
  11. Ah yes. Tone doesn't convey. I was intending that statement to continue the joke, but I suppose that did require tone that wasn't evident
  12. You already have that in common. There have been, and are, several multiple-personality characters
  13. Huh. Maybe that's where I got the name from. I remember being around for that a little bit
  14. 1 cause there'll probably be additions to this that I've forgotten rn The Mindscape is a creation of, and based on, my own brain, which means it tend to make little sense to others; hence this blog. Key to the Mindscape is that it is full of contradictions that aren't contradictions; it is a separate realm with separate rules and physics, and thus what would normally be contradictions can exist simultaneously there. For example, distance. There is simultaneously no distance in the Mindscape (it is a singularity, and everything is concentrated in one place) and there is infinite distance in the Mindscape (it extends forever in all directions, and whatever is contained within it can be anywhere in it. This results in the negation of certain questions with relation to the Mindscape, particularly "where?" Any "where" question results in millions of conflicting signals and a serious headache for the questioner, as there is no real answer to this. Who controls the Mindscape? Well, this is a complicated question depending on the mechanics. Ultimately, it depends on agreement of the Authors. Only a Narrator can control a Mindscape, since it is itself just a form of Narration, albeit modified enough that, for example, Dark Cep taking a Nullite sword into the Mindscape doesn't immediately destroy it. As of now, those who fully control the Mindscape are the Cep variants and Aeryn. Some with connection to them, such as Erryin and Taeidin, can manipulate it to some extent, but the true wielder of each has full control and can block others out. The question of control is also complicated by the fact that, while there are many Mindscapes, there is only one Mindscape. They are seperate but one. This means that control ultimately (I guess I said this earlier but I'm circling back to it now) depends on agreement of the Authors, though those who control the Mindscape they are in have slight advantage over intruders with their own Mindscape abilities, and significant advantage over any intruders who have no Mindscape abilities. Each Mindscape can only be primarily controlled by one person. A person can willingly transfer their Mindscape and abilities to any other person at any time, though this drains their lifetime. (Incidentally, this is a tbd number of years, and if the person doesn't have that many years left, the debt is carried over to the person they transfer it to.) An owner of a Mindscape can also create a Splinter of the Mindscape, which another person can through time, effort, and learning tonuse the Mindscape's abilities grow into their own full Mindscape. If the owner of a Mindscape dies, unless they transferred it to someone else contingent on their death, it can be claimed within a short time of their death by anyone (priority given to the one who killed the person). Else it just fades away. Each person's Mindscape can also be unique or identical (for example, Dark Cep's is smoky, while Aeryn's has a slight violet tinge). The extent to which actions inside the Mindscape affect the Thread outside of it depends on the Authors. For example, harm done to a person in the Mindscape might just mentally scar them a little, or it might actually kill them, depending on the wishes of the relevant Authors. Typically, once the Mindscape is entered, it doesn't move (to prevent it being completely overpowered), but some, like Erryin, have proven able to completely move the whole Mindscape to a different anchor point in the Thread. And some, like Asharak, have found ways to use the Mindscape to teleport to various points around the Thread. Anything in the Mindscape can happen within the rules. Perspective changes are key; looking in a different direction can produce an entirely different environment, and sometimes physically moving doesn't do anything. Thinking outside the box and using brains rather than brawn is key to maneuvering this place.
  15. Later today I think I'll make a blog to explain the Mindscape, 'cause I'm realizing that it's designed how my mind works...which means that without explanation it is rather difficult for others

    2. Through The Living Ash

      Through The Living Ash

The mindscape in BftS was destroyed a long while ago.

And then we had the dreamscape, and that also got destroyed.

    3. Through the Living Wrath

      Through the Living Wrath

      Yeah

      i helped make both

I made the mindscape and then misnamed it a while later very consistently, which I think then contributed

anyways itirSp had complete control of the mindscape while he was there

(man these were like… just like a month after I had joined…)

    4. Doomslug the Arcane

      Doomslug the Arcane

Only the real ones remember the Dreamscape!

  16. Not onto. The walls rise up past the hole on both sides
  17. They see another area similar to where they are—walls on all sides, overlapping and leaving gaps. They are about three meters above the ground.
  18. Birthday! Happy!
