The wall lights up as a cheery voice fills the room. “Greetings, contestants! Let me lay the deal for you.”

The light on the wall resolved to an image of an arena, panning out.

”We have a special week planned out! With this week comes the arrival of a secret shadow group known simply as ‘the Branded,’ donated to us by an anonymous benefactor of our semi-legal games!”

It shows an obviously fake picture of them.

”These contestants will work their way through a series of battles, before those that remain will face against another who was donated… the Husk, as they are called.”

The voice drones on, but eventually said simply: “Choose a weapon!”

A selection of weapons appeared on the screen, including a crystal blade, a greathammer, a pair of daggers  - wickedly curved, and a special looking suit.

“Your fingerprint will be stored for your selection.”
