  1. Greetings, with Mistborn, did you also go into the Wax and Wayne portion of the series, or just the original trilogy?
  2. Greetings, what was your favorite part of the Mistborn series? Did you get to the Wax and Wayne portion of the series?
  3. Greetings Corgen, I've also read about everything except for the unpubs and White Sands. You will find they ask some real good questions here! I like that one about hemalurgy! Welcome, this is wealth of info!
  4. hmmm...not sure how to purge the other quotes from my replies yet...so I apologies for any of the confusion the replies.
  5. Hi there! Thank you! I would say the Frostlands so I could visit the library at Kharbranth. As a reader...where else would I go??? I liked that question! Hi Aeternum, I think the obvs answer is Kaladin, but I think I lean more towards either Dalinar or Adolin. Dalinar because, same as Kaladin, the complexity of the character yet single drive of purpose. Adolin I like because even without having abilities, he is exceptional. All of Brandon's characters show evolution and growth, and I find that more than evident in this series. Least...i'd have to say Moash so far. Though, and purely speculation, I think we can expect some self-introspection from him as well. I haven't read the graphic novels (other than the text version in the Arcanum Unbounded) I believe that is the only Cosmere book I have not read. I loved the Mistborn series, and I'd have to say I love that magic system. Something about the ingestion of metals to open a realm of abilities is wonderful to me, and just like so many of Brandon's systems...seem to have a bit of realism to them. A very close second is the Rosharan system of magic. Replenishing the stones by leaving them in the High Storm gives it a sense of limitation...they have all this power, yet limited by the number of stones...unless Dalinar is near. They don't have luck on Scadrial...unless you are near a mineral deposit and you have a sense of Pica...
  6. Hello Everyone, I'm using a variation of my gaming tag...the site glitched initially so I had to add a 1. Anywho... So far I have loved every book I have read by Brandon, starting way back when with Elantris. I am an avid reader. I started as a kid hating to read...was able to fudge our required book reports by reading the back summary, front page summary, and usually the first page or so and the last page of the book. Then I got grounded for a quarter (for bad grades ironically) and my aunt conned me into reading A Spell for Chameleon by Piers Anthony. Different type of book than I ever tried to read before...I was hooked. I read and read...at one point, my parents even said why not put down the book and watch some TV? That was back in the late '70s or early '80s. I've been reading non-stop since. Primarily I read fantasy novels, but I splash in some SF here and there, along with some historical fiction too. So I like to read then re-read the books to see if I missed anything. Sometimes I'll read the same book 3 to 5 times before moving on.
  7. Thanks...I didn't notice the date and i thought I was in the spoiler group...oops
  8. So what is "Auxiliary" exactly? Not an honorspren, but still a "kind of" spren that can manifest as Shardtools, even (briefly) as a Shardblade. And can facilitate Connection-based translation services for Nomad, which is not something honorspren can do (that we know about). Aux is a High Spren, and after reading the book The Sunlit Man the first time (on my second read now) I'm not sure if he broke his oath or just walked away. It is clear that he had 2 spren...the Highspren and honor spren. One made him a Skybreaker the other a Windrunner with Bridge 4 and the Crew. Hoverbikes don't really concern me as much. In the Wax and Wayne series they motor cars and trains...as well as ships...how much different is that? Nomad went to great deal to explain the basics of locomotion thus making the basics of the hoverbike seem rudimentary and not that far-fetched after all.
