Yes! First-time read for everything. Thank you for the advice! I am going to edit my schedule to reflect these considerations. -
Glorfs Tresses started following The "Best" Cosmere Reading Order
-
Hi! I have been trying to catch up on Cosmere works so that I can stop spoiling stuff for myself and be able to dive into discussions without hesitation. I thought I might share my tentative schedule here because I think it may help me get through a lot before the release of the Stormlight 5 novel! I know it may not seem like a very fast paced schedule. I typically read pretty fast but unfortunately I have little to no free time to sit down and read. However, I have learned that audiobooks are my friends when it comes to that challenge and can help me average 2 to 3 books per month. My Schedule is a little out of order because I was hooked on the The Stormlight Archive novels before I discovered that there was a connection to the Cosmere. I am trying my best to keep with the spirit of the chronological order, even with the novellas and short stories, but I do not intend for it to be perfect since I have already started. I have read a lot of people's orders on here and had fun figuring out the best schedule for myself! Note: Edited based on your suggestions So far, I have read all four of the main Stormlight Archive novels and Tress of the Emerald Sea. I also will finish up Mistborn: The Final Empire today! I had started The Sunlit Man before realizing how far ahead it was so I stopped in the middle to revisit later. Before the End of March: Mistborn: The Final Empire and Edgedancer April: The Eleventh Metal, The Well of Ascension, and The Hero of Ages May: Elantris, The Hope of Elantris, and The Emperor's Soul June: Warbreaker and White Sand Omnibus July: The Alloy of Law, Dawnshard, and Finish up White Sand Omnibus, August: Shadows of Self, The Bands of Mourning, and Mistborn: Secret History September: The Lost Metal and Allomancer Jak and the Pits of Eltania October: Sixth of the Dusk and Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell November: Yumi and the Nightmare Painter and The Sunlit Man December: SA 5! Let me know if I forgot anything! The day I am posting this is March 27th for reference.

Hello! I have been trying everything I can think of the add an apostrophe to my display name so that it is "Glorf's Tresses" instead of "Glorfs Tresses". However, I always get the error message "You are not allowed to use that display name on this site." I did not think much of it, but I have seen other display names with apostrophes so I am wondering if it is possible to add it some way. Is this just the way it is or am I missing something simple to add the apostrophe?

I was wondering if I could get some advice on spell preparation... My current campaign is my first time playing a spellcaster and I am struggling with balancing prepared spells. We ended our last session with a long rest so my dm gave me a week to prepare my spells hehe. We leveled up to level 9 and so I now get 5th level spells as an aarakocra cleric. My questions are probably pretty simple: How many spells should I prepare at each level if I have 14 slots? Should the number of prepared spells match the number of spell slots at each level? (4 first level, 3 second level, 3 third level, 3 fourth level, and 1 fifth level)

okay, I have been waiting to answer this because I have not thought about it before and I am new to the Cosmere (like within the past year and a half). So I think in instances it can be good/acceptable. If someone were to willingly agree I think it would "acceptable" and also if the person who uses it is understanding of the weight of their actions and why it is being done. However, there is much risk of the "wrong people" using hemalurgy due to it's nature. So I would say is that it is circumstantially good or evil, but it is always dangerous and comes with a great cost in terms of the afterlife. So I guess my opinion is that it overall is a bad move and I would not deem it "necessary" in any instance, but "people" who do use it (whether good or bad) will always trick/convince themselves that it is necessary. That's the short conclusion, but there is a lot more to think about. Thank you for the question, @strmblsd! -
I have a habit of reading/rereading/listening to 3 to 5 books at once, so here are all of them: Currently listening to - Mistborn:The Final Empire and The Sunlit Man; as well as Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner Currently Reading - The Rook by Daniel O'Malley and Edgedancer

The first time I was introduced to the Cosmere was when I was a college freshman in 2019. My brother lived in the same town and we decided to carpool home for Christmas. He was playing an audiobook that he was in the middle of and I found it really interesting. I never got the name or author (or I just could not remember it) and when I described what I heard he could not really help me figure out based on the details I gave him. So I just went on listening to or reading other books hoping that I could stumble on it one day. Well, after a couple years, I started having friends recommend the Stormlight Archives to me. I asked my brother if he had heard of it and he said it was his favorite series he has ever read (I don't know why he couldn't have pointed me to it before). Within the year, I had read or listened to all the Stormlight Archives and started to look up some theories online. That was when I found out that there was so much more to the story that I had yet discovered and started on the first Mistborn Era. I kept going through the Cosmere related books and a few of Brandon Sanderson's other works. I still have a ways to go, but I am so grateful for how well he treats his fans and how Brandon and his team made it fun to be a part of the community. Now I would definitely say I have favorite author!

Thank you! Definitely the Truthwatchers. I am an engineer and have also held a few research jobs. I have always been drawn to healing characters in games and books, and I have held a few first aid positions. I consider myself a pretty reserved and observant person, however, if I have an opinion (or a truth haha), I have to let it be known. -

Interesting question! I guess white cheese (mozzarella, feta, parmesan) Hmmm... that's a hard question that I will probably be thinking about more. -

Thank you! Definitely blueberry bagels. Thank you! There are still some stories I have yet to read, but my favorite character is probably Navani. I also really like Vin, Hoid, and Kaladin! Least favorite.... I am all caught up in The Stormlight Archives but I still struggle with liking Venli. However, I think my least favorite is Moash with no explanation needed haha -
I am no writer... however, I am a big reader and I have slowly been becoming a huge Sanderfan! It all started when I read TWoK 3 years ago, and I have been obsessively trying to understand to components of the Cosmere ever since I realized there was something bigger than what was in the Stormlight Archives. I love reading everyone's questions and I hope to contribute once I become confident enough.
