Alvar continues to smile menacingly, striding purposefully toward the exit as he preforms the wrist twitch again, creating a barbed ice blade for his other hand. "I think it will be you. Blood makes ice just as well as water. The swords are like this for a reason." Alvar turns to a passing servant. "Does the duke have healing potions? Bring a couple and put them on my tab; that guy will need them, and I want to be back in top shape for the challenge. And some injury poisons as well; whatever liquid ones you can find." Turning to the other three adventurers, he assures them, "I won't be using them on him. That's a waste of poison. If the servant can't find any, can you get me some supplies?" He tosses one of his two golden coins - 100 silver at face value - to Lusha. @Spark of Hope @TwinSouls @J. Magi

Alvar smiles viscously, revealing his two layers of canines and occasionally bleeding other teeth. He cracks his neck, then flicks his wrist. Water runs out of the nozzle of his custom leather armor’s vambrace. “How about a ‘warm up’. It’ll be good for us…” The water forms into a sword shape, then freezes, turning cloudy and crystalline as chilling wind rushes toward it. The process takes one or two seconds, and leaves Alvar with a similarly dangerous-looking sword. It’s serrated on both edges, and has barbs on the flat of the blade that would make cutting both inefficient and highly painful. It’s long and relatively wide, giving it as much reach and weight as can be utilized without needing two hands. “We’d best do this outside. We wouldn’t want to scare the duke.”
-
“I’m a melee fighter, and I’m decently fast. I can either take down people who get too close, or I can take out people behind cover. We should take out a group loan or simply pool our money so we can get healing potions, unless one of you four can heal. Maybe some poison, too.” @TwinSouls @J. Magi “Ha! I founded the club. I’ve been doing this since longer than you’ve been alive.”
-
“Ok. Do you want the head intact for mounting on a wall or something? I’ll need to find a water source; is there a lake or river nearby that’s free to use?” @The Stormfather @The Stormfather

Alvar looks slightly upset, although he’s glad that the pompous elf isn’t in his group. Alvar gets up as well, trying to steer the group somewhere they can talk without being overheard. “I typically work alone. But if we want to do this, we should at least a some sort of a plan.”

“Excellent! Is the moose too big, or too heavy? If it’s the latter, I can definitely help. I’ll just have to rearrange my schedule and refuel these wings earlier.”

Veer pauses his rifling through a random cabinet. “Who created the world, then? And where do scaled gifts come from?”

He turns and goes into the butcher’s shop, smiling amenably. “Hello. Do you have any scraps that you can’t sell that you could give me? I don’t care if it’s edible or not.” If the butcher asks for payment, Nick says. “I don’t have any currency you’d take, but I’m willing to do a short but difficult task in return.”
-
“Sounds good to me.” Nick walks in the general direction Kaleb is going because Kaleb is going in the general direction that Nick is going. He searches for a smith, a tanner, a butcher, or a weaver, hoping he can buy some supplies for the cheap price of a several century technology boost. @The Stormfather

“O mighty dragon, forgive my errors. I was distracted by your … er … dragon-ness and state of injury. Bestow upon me a gift to help you recover from your current state.”

“See if you can get some information about where we are. Or you could go with either me or Larry.”
-
“Agreed. I’ll go by myself and see if I can trade future technology for raw materials. I’ll call you guys when the suits are ready.” Nick stays put, waiting to see if there are any objections.

I’m thinking of dropping this RP in favor of the hunger games (school is busy). I might be back, but for now Dray and his backpack do not return from the bag.- 1098 replies

“The coins would probably work; gold is valuable pretty much everywhere. The credits almost certainly will not. I don’t really want to trade our things if we can trade something that doesn’t diminish us. Like knowledge or a job only we can do. We have access to tools and skills these people have never seen.” Nick glances around the market. “Honestly, we could probably get what we need for free; I could probably extract metal from slag and turn meat scraps to something edible. How about we split up - everyone but Sleeper has a way to call each other.”
-
“I need a lot of water to fuel the wings. And any scraps they’ll give me would be helpful for making things. Do we actually have anything to barter with?”
-
Nick opens his arms for the hug, smiling. “You’re welcome.”

Veer, focusing on walking as it seems to prevent telekinesis, doesn’t notice. Veer walks in through the door, then stops in awe. “A dragon? How? That’s not spellsteel.” He tries to telekineticly put Mead Bush’s organs right side out, pulling bandages and such off the shelves. He has essentially no idea what he’s doing, though.

Wait… is that Calum Lightarrow? The man who single-handedly cleared a massive chunk of the countryside of monsters? Alvar didn’t know how he’d done it - Calum had probably cheated somehow - but the resulting fallout had destroyed adventurers and towns both financially and physically, as jobs and cashflow plummeted, then new monsters filled the power vacuum and overwhelmed towns. The few adventurers still in business tried to combat the massive spike in monster numbers; Alvar’s parents, along with the rest of their adventuring party, were lost to the surge. Alvar considers attacking Calum, but sits down to start the auditions instead, knowing that a brawl of twenty of the best adventurers would be very deadly.

“Huh. I’d imagine you have lots of other interesting foods, too.” After finishing his meal, Veer hovers himself down to the floor, letting Gemini down as well. “I’m going to go to the med wing to find a magic councilor.”

“There were pulleys. The bow was like this, and they were here and here.” Nick mimes out the structure of a compound bow. “Are those optional?” “He was saying that he’d wished he had his bow. The rest of you can attack at range; I don’t have enough hydrogen for it right now.” Nick goes back to walking down the hill. A minute or two later, he pulls two pairs of glasses from the wing struts and assembles them. “Alright, your assistants are done.” @J. Magi @Ancient Elantrian

“Aki needs a ranged weapon. But with that homing dagger trick, I’m not sure you’d need one. We can try to get you one, though. Do you know what the pulleys are for?”
