  1. Tam skittered out of the castle, running up to where the squirrel had landed. It hissed angrily at Bat before turning to her. It sniffed her curiously, then tapped her shell softly with one of it's clawed fingers. It sat on the sand and waited to see what she did. "Aw, it's so cute!" Tam said happily. "I shall call you Fluffy." She turned back into her normal self and picked Fluffy up carefully, petting him. He didn't react in any violet way, so she set him on her shoulder and walked back over to Besota. Shoe approved of the wording Cricket had used.
  2. Shoe nodded and turned to leave. I think so. Actually . . . ask him why he was willing to sacrifice his daughter to see his wife again. I'm curious, he said angrily. He does seem like that The squirrel jumped and flew through the air (quite majestically, in Tam's opinion), landing on Bat's head again. It started biting at his ears.
  3. oh, we're not done. The squirrel, now in a vengeful mood, came running at Bat from the trees, screeching at the top of its lungs.
  4. It bit his hand, but it did go flying into the trees.
  5. The squirrel decided that this was a good time to use the bathroom- all over Bat's head.
  6. She narrowed her eyes further. "Says the man who is actively resting a hand on his pistol. Are you really seriously thinking about shooting me right now?"
  7. I figured anyway The squirrel didn't run away. Instead, it froze and tried to stay as still as possible in order to remain undetected.
  8. She narrowed her eyes. "Funny, you didn't seem to have a problem acting insufferable before."
  9. It actually didn't attack him this time. Instead, it just looked at him curiously and settled down comfortably in his hair.
  10. "Not exactly. I could make him have a sickness, but if it's something specific I can't know what it is. Not right off the bat, at least. Speaking of Bat . . ." The squirrel from earlier had fallen asleep on Bat's head, and was now beginning to wake up again.
  11. She gasped in relief, standing shakily. "It wasn't reckless or dangerous, in fact, it was only meant to annoy you," she gestured to his hands, where the majority of the ice had already melted away. "And I don't exactly feel inclined to help you when you threaten to make things worse."
  12. Tam narrowed her tiny crab eyes at him. "Are you okay?" she asked him. Then, to Beosta: "Is he okay?"
  13. . . . shush Tam skittered into the castle and cut out a small window with one of her claws. "Perfect!" she said cheerfully.
  14. Tam looked thoughtfully at the ground. "I mean, it'd only be because he wants to tell you himself, so . . . hmm." Then she turned into a small blue crab and followed Beosta along the beach. Hah! Yep.
  15. She gasped and fell to her knees, clutching her chest. "I . . . I can't," she managed to get out. "It's not meant to-" she shuddered, "-to last longer than a minute or two, but I don't know how- how to melt it." "Now stop it-!" she gasped.
  16. Oh yeah I mean Hacob would hear his thoughts anyway I kinda just assumed that he could talk to Shoe 'cus he wanted to; being a Narrator and all. "Mm . . . maybe. If I do though, Shoe might be a little mad at me when he gets back."
  17. *sob* you don't even know how tall I am Thank you
  18. no You're just taller than I am
  19. "So is that priest, apparently . . ." she eyed a nearby boulder suspiciously.
  20. "Oh! Nothing then. Nevermind. And I already saw him. I think he's gone now-" she looked around, "-but I can't be completely sure." Shoe thought the phrasing of that sentence didn't make much sense, since Hacob was talking to him. Fair enough. Thanks.
  21. She took a step back, shocked by the suddenness and intensity of it. She turned her head towards the ground and took a deep breath. "Stop that."
  22. It did I went back and looked I just missed it Because he made me feel short
  23. Okay . . . then why didn't you leave? Tam grinned. "So, did he tell you about his idea yet? I haven't been paying attention to you two for most of the past day."
