  1. Inside was was large storage cellar with dirt walls, wooden shelves lining the edges of the room. The same red crystals poked up through the dirt like glowing, malevolent needles, sharper and thinner than the first ones they'd encountered. The boy had vanished into the back somewhere. "This way!" he hissed. "Don't touch anything!"
  2. The boy was waiting for them at the bottom. He stood next to a wooden door, a sinister red light pouring out from underneath. "Shh," he whispered. "Gotta be quiet . . ." He cracked the door open and slipped into the other room. Lady Bug? :D:D
  3. Oh, um . . . ". . . No-" he admitted sheepishly, "-but I'll think of something!"
  4. All good I mean she's probably pretty rattled still so makes sense He blinked. "I mean but can you imagine how that would work, though? Hades! C'mere Hades!" he laughed.
  5. ". . . Seems a little sacrilegious, don't you think?" She summoned two extra-bright lanterns for the both of them.
  6. The inside of the house was dark- far darker than it probably should have been, considering the morning sun should have been shining directly through the windows. A staircase led down into some sort of basement to their right, and was even darker. "Down here!" called the boy from the cellar.
  7. The boy led them back to- not the town, exactly, but a little homestead near the town. "Hurry!" he called again, running through the back door and vanishing from view. He rolled his shoulders back and make sure the bandages were tight. "Much better. Thank you." Then he picked up the panther cub again and cuddled it to his chest. "What should name him?"
  8. Tam squeezed his hand. "It- it just started spreading . . ." the figure said. "Growing out of the ground, on walls, our clothing, even . . . we didn't think much of it at first, but by the time we realized it was dangerous-" he shrugged. "And then people started dying because of it- I just-" He stopped. Goodness . . . Tam got rid of the crystals on the figure -it was a young boy- and healed him of his wounds immediately. He gaped at his arms for a moment, clearly shocked. "Wha- oh, oh thank you! Thank you!" Then, realizing now was not the time to celebrate, he got up and started running back the way he'd come. "Hurry! Hurry, everyone else is this way! Oh, thank you!" mmmmmm poorly written but whatever lol you get the point
  9. "It's just- we're all just . . ." It held out its crystal-enveloped arms helplessly. "I-I saw you get rid of the crystals earlier . . . please help us . . ."

  12. He nodded and smiled back. "I-I don't know!" the figure cried, distressed. "D-don't know . . . anyone who might've known is g-gone now . . ."
  13. They didn't have to walk very far before- "Oh, thank heavens! There you are!" A figure stumbled out of the trees. Tw: blood/gore "Please! You gotta help us!" it begged, hobbling towards and kneeling on the ground in front of them. Tam put a hand over her mouth, sickened and horrified.
