Hey there! Welcome back to the Shard! If you could visit any country on Roshar for a week, which country would you visit and why?

"Why do you want to know?" Niamh asked, amused.

Glass nodded and put the map back in the backpack. She slung it over her shoulder and began rooting around the trees for fallen branches. "Who did what?" Glass asked, appearing from behind a nearby tree.

GASP BLOCK HAS RETURNED

"Well... hang on. Come look at this." She waved everyone over. She spread the map out for everyone to see: - Long, winding path (for introductions and such) Narrow cliff-side path (covered with rubble from a landslide but they don’t know that yet) Think, prickly underbrush covering the path Some sort of wiggly vines (aka moving vines will grab onto anything they can possibly reach) Dark cave w/traps and possibly dangerous creatures of some sort (it’s hard to tell) Puzzle #1 (i’ll give the first puzzle) Normal cliffside path (but remember that rubble from earlier? guess where this gaping hole in the road came from.) A wide, raging river Another long path A large, dark, and spooky forest depicted with dangerous beasts A picture of an ancient city - “And then…” Glass paused and turned the map over. “It just ends,” she said. The map was frayed on the top. "It's been ripped." "Hi. I'm Glass." She paused. "And... I don't think we have much of a choice. There isn't anywhere else to go." She gestured to the trees and the cliff beyond.

"Yeah, it is." She looked it over. "I think it's a map of the mountain."

"Hey. I'm Glass." She pulled a tattered piece of parchment out of her backpack.

Glass watched everything that was happening from her spot on the ground. Also, she noticed that she was suddenly wearing a blue and silver backpack, which was empty when she opened it. Wait... There was something there. "Hey," Glass addressed the group, "does anyone else have something in their backpack? Glass waved to the boy behind the tree. "Hey."

Indeed it had

It just started, but y'all can still join! You might want to read through this entire thread though for more information.

"Gah!" Glass shielded her eyes as someone landed next to her in the dirt. Glass stood, and there was another flash of light. Temporarily blinded, she stumbled backwards and fell again. "Ow."

No it's all good! And you don't have to PM me. I'll collaborate with you guys individually about when would be a good time to use your puzzles. (the map won't be finished so that we can make it fit the puzzles' situations better) I'll be doing the first puzzle as an example. It's pretty straight forward, but I wanted to kind of have an example if someone was unsure about what to make or how to make it or something.

Welcome, Adventurers, to The Mountain (yes, that’s the name right now. we can change it later); A magical mountain that I have trapped you all on! *maniacal laughter* In all seriousness, welcome to the RP! The goal is to escape the mountain by getting to the top, for reasons that you will see soon and because there is literally nowhere else to go but up. As for a quick description of the mountain: The Mountain is a tall, jagged piece of rock jutting up into the sky. I say into the sky because when you look over the cliffs you can’t see the ground, only clouds and other, distant mountains (don’t worry about air pressure or altitude). It is pockmarked with caves and home to all kinds of plants and animals that can do a variety of different things (magical plants and animals are allowed)! (feel free to make up different types of either if you wish; it’ll be great.) The paths have abundant trees and vines growing along them, and the sky above seems perpetually overcast. Your characters each will arrive with *magic* backpacks (WHICH ARE EMPTY!!!) that will provide materials that are not readily available on the mountain. These will be the only items your characters will arrive with, and they will be completely empty at the start. However, you won’t be able to pull just anything out of your backpack, and will often have to use the natural resources of The Mountain (there will occasionally be magical tools and resources you can use, but you cannot pull anything magical out of your backpack and your character cannot intrinsically have powers of any kind) along with your own creativity to problem solve. The plot will be player driven, but there is a basic outline that I’ve included as an “on-screen” map (aka a list i'll post in a few posts) to guide you through a rough plot outline. Of course, this doesn’t mean that the plot or path is set in stone; anything can and will happen, whether the map says so or not! There is only one rule on The Mountain: Be creative and problem solve! Use the resources around you (magical or otherwise) to make your way up! Oh, and one more thing: Let's do this! --- In some universe, in some galaxy, on some planet, a lone dirt path lay silently on a cliff. A cool wind blew softly through the pale-green trees surrounding it, and some sort of animal called in the distance. Other than that, the small landscape was perfectly quiet and peaceful. Suddenly, the serene terrain was interrupted by a bang and a flash of light. Glass yelped and landed hard on her face in the dirt. Sputtering, she sat up and wiped the dirt off her face. Looking around, she found herself in a small, circular dirt clearing surrounded by exceptionally pale plants. A path extended forward in front of her a ways, and when she looked up, a jagged mountain covered in snow loomed ominously in the overcast sky. An unfamiliar-sounding animal cried in the distance and she looked around nervously. Where am I?
