    "The Surface is just a myth," the older spider growled. "You're old enough to know that." Seiretta shied back. "As for you," it growled, turning back to Prie, "I'm afraid you don't have a choice in the matter. Enjoy this while you can."

    The spider regarded him with a skeptical look. "What's one more time, then?" Seiretta scuttled over. "But- but what about . . . the Surface?" she whispered to Prie.

    "And I don't want my children to starve. We can't all have what we want . . ." "Depends. What kind of food do you have to offer?" They returned to the storage room, and the spider prepared to string them up on the wall again. Thank goodness.

    ugh same Ahhh, I see Shoe kept an ax in one hand while keeping Beosta tethered with the other, tense. "Yes, you are," it growled.

    It hissed again, this time at Seiretta. "This one is food! What were you doing in storage!?" "I- um, I was- um . . ." Seiretta stammered nervously. "I-I wanted to see- I've never been there before . . . I'm sorry . . ." The older one hissed and snatched Prie away, biting down hard on his leg. "You know you're not supposed to be in there." Seiretta slumped. Then it started to drag Prie away, muttering something about a "stupid hatchling."

A much, much bigger spider scuttled into the room. It stiffened when it saw Prie. "What's that thing doing here!" "I- I- um . . ."
