    Laser Cut Tiles and Wood

I use art from the coppermind and stormlight quotes to make signs.
  2. Ha, thanks! I'm too much of a rule follower for that. I am gradually talking myself into an etsy shop, but it would be for commission stuff.
  3. Thanks! I will think on that, but I think I can just be patient. Afterall, an NDA would be hard, it literally shows up in my zoom background on conference calls.
  4. @Treamayne Exactly. Someone told me that those already existed, and that the wiki was out of date. I am using them in my home art project. Didn't realize that I'd have to wait till December when I started. Any chance they get released through digital media before the book?
  5. Someone told me that they these exist and can be found elsewhere. Someone else said that they are going to come out in December. Please let me know which it is and where to find them if they exist. https://coppermind.net/wiki/Glyphs/Index#Fundamental_Glyphs
  6. I've made several of these 12 x 6 display tiles for different orders. I always make several to test colors on. With BS on his way here for C2E2, I decided to give away my extras at The Pile Bookstore (about 30 minutes away from the con). If you want one, bring your badge to the bookstore and they will let you have one. NOTE: I'm not affiliated with this bookstore and do not own or sell any of the iconic art that I use in my free crafts.
  7. Gave it a shot and it did pretty well, I think.
  8. I made a couple blue and gray windrunners tiles and a gold Bondsmith that worked. Check them out. Let me know what you think of the lighter colors. Part of me just likes the gray better, but I'm going to try to make a set in the color for each order. Going to drop off an extra blue windrunners one at the Pile Bookstore if someone wants it.
  9. I make some pretty nice tile art with a laser cutter for home art projects. See my gallery here: I made two of the Bondsmiths tiles in the main thumbnail above. The second one didn't photograph well but it is a dark version with the outline and letters in gold. If you want it go to the PILE bookstore at Harlem and Roosevelt in Oak Park (or Berwyn?). Tell the store owner, Rebecca, "Journey Before Destination" and she will give it to you. They have good coffee!
  10. I made two new tiles for my display case The radiant one took a little over an hour, the Bondsmiths one was much faster to laser cut. Silver and gold pigment on the green one. Bondsmiths is just graphite powder.
  11. I like the motion in the Kal with stormlight. Was it an art class, or were you not paying attention?
  12. I'm actually very excited about this idea. I'm going to make ones with a slot where I can slide a tile in and out. then I can have custom bookends that I can switch out whenever I want.
  13. I haven't tried it, but there are files for that on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1590572483/3d-book-end-bundle-lasercut-bookend?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=laser+book+end&ref=sr_gallery-1-2&pro=1&dd=1&search_preloaded_img=1&organic_search_click=1
  14. It's pretty easy to push it around with a plastic paint scraper and the surface under the outer layer is rough and holds the pigment well. I just pour a little over the engraved area and smear it around and scraped it off. Running the scraper over the top will leave a nice even layer. Then I dabbed at it a bit with a microfiber cloth to get the tough spots in the center.
  15. I used the SVG file https://coppermind.net/wiki/File:Cosmere_symbol.svg with the library's laser cutter to etch this tile. Applied a powdered pigment to get the gold and silver colors.
