Kimsey looked around nervously, then tiptoed into the large room which held her target. Mistrunner sat eating Mac and Cheese by herself at an unnecessarily long table. Kimsey raised her crossbow, hiding behind the statue of a turtle which was conspicuously placed in the middle of the room. The Guildmasters had sent her to find out what Mistrunner was hiding. She gritted her teeth, then proceeded to ram her crossbow into the statue, letting out a resounding clang.
The statue split, revealing a glowing pedestal inside. Kimsey approached hurriedly, as Mistrunner stood, looking concerned. Engraved into the pillar were the words, Books before friends. 17th shard before the real world. Release dates before birthdays. The knights awkward must stand again.
Kimsey sucked in a breath. Her worst fear had been confirmed. Mistrunner had started a new guild without the approval of the Guildmasters. She whipped around, hearing footsteps behind her. The Lady herself was standing behind Kimsey, a storm on her face. "You," she said dangerously, "have violated the privacy of a mist lady. You will be put to death at once." She stepped forward, eyes flashing, and raised her arm.
Kimsey threw back her hood defiantly. "Books before friends. 17th shard before the real world. Release dates before birthdays."
Mistrunner stopped, a look of utter shock on her face. Kimsey smiled. The Lady couldn't harm her now.
"I...accept these oaths," she said after a moment, looking surprised. "But, of course, you need an order. "
Kimsey reached within herself, then promptly said, "I will bind others together with fictional narratives. I will battle on, even if my fictional characters fall around me. I will raise my strength stat to defend those without, even at the cost of my resources."
Mistrunner sighed, a look of long suffering on her face. "Welcome to the guild."
There's my spin...what do you think, my lady?
