  1. William arrived late, but got there just in time to here Synwyl give the whole spiel. William stood in the back examining each of the other recruits one by one.
  2. Cane dusted the ash of himself and with some difficulty, as he wasn't particularly muscular, hoisted Roy onto his shoulders and walks into the shadows. Later that night Canes approaches the back door of a rundown medicine shop. After a soft seven knocks on the back door a woman opens "Cane, if you think i'll bandage you up for free after another of your adven-" she stops once she sees Roy on his shoulders. She sighs "If this is one of your underground friends it will cost you to keep me quiet!" Canes flared zinc to riot her sympathy. "Don't use your allowmancy on me you filthy rat!" Canes sighed "Eshly, you know i don't have money. Besides I know you wouldn't just turn a patient you worked on to see then executed." As he did so he significantly decreased the amount of zinc he burned, but still left just a hint. Eshly opens the door wider and lets them "You owe me Kainneric!"
  3. "Thank ye! I Would try Thee Stumbling Bumble first. It's a cheap tavern located North East of here. Unfortunately I have an appointment with a traveling metallurgist tomorrow and won't be able to join you, but i'll lend you my map and a pouch of copper coins. Calden can get you to the main road in the morning"
  4. "nooo, I only pretend to be drunk!" he slurs in a way that seems he may actually still be a little intoxicated. "it seems Jade found a new recruit. I put him to good use by having him try to swipe some stuff off a messenger. Hopefully he finds something good" He waves in the direction of Alun as he speaks. "how was your adventure?"
  5. Fane lets out a long sigh. "They stole some artifacts from me recently... you wouldn't mind tracking them down would you? I'll even let you each take an artifact if wwe actually beat them."
  6. "no it's not... it's just good advi-" Calden interrupts "One with a lizard head breathed fire on Greg's liquor stand last month, but Greg always charges a lot for his stuff so I guess it makes sense" "Err yeah... they're an odd bunch. Best not to dwell on them too much, just pray they bump into the phantom sometime soon."
  7. Cane looks down the road. Are those obligations? He turns his head to Alun and mouths "Leave" Cane then staggers to his feet and blunders past the messengers, further tripping them, and slips through an alleyway.
  8. "I'm Kainneric, but most the crew just calls me Cane." Cane sits there for a moment. "While we wait for Kelsier let's have a little fun. You see those messenger boys coming this way? I'll cause a distraction and you try to take anything that looks interesting." As the messengers get closer Cane stands up, pretending to be drunk again, stumbles into the poor boys tripping them (as well as himself in the process).
  9. "Hmmm, this must be Jade's doing" He mumbles. "It's that jewelry shop down there, but Kelsier isn't around right now. What's your name, how good are you with acting and sneaking around?"
  10. "oh yes! the most horrid of peoples! Odd groups of crazy people with no grip of reality and extremely bad childhoods. Don't try to reason with them, capture them or stand next to anything flammable when near them."
  11. I'll be joining one of those threads, and hopefully that helps some. Another idea is to start making plans for two story lines to cross paths in the future.
  12. Flint would be the guy who likes to spend the evening at the bar or at a car show, but i don't know if cars are common enough here to have a show for them or not and Eza isn't old enough to get in the bar so a cheap diner would work well.
  13. Fane leans back in his chair "Well, that's a big question, but i'll summarize some of the main differences i've noticed. This world has a large mixture of sapient life, though most aren't too different from humans. I am what is called a dwarf. This place has much more magical elements compared to other worlds." Now that he says that there does seem to be a raw form of energy that just hangs in the air, but you for some reason can't access it. "This specific place has been named scavenger's wilds in the recent year. This is the hot spot for other worldly appearances. A word of advice, there are two types of people never to trust out here: goblins, small green people, and the so called adventuring parties!"
  14. As you enter Fane's home you notice that some spare blankets and bedrolls are already in his living room. Calden starts cooking dinner, while Fane asks you details about what year it was on your world and about some of the major happenings on Scadrial, taking notes along the way.
  15. Not far from the shop a man slumped in the ally way calls out. "Hey, kid you look lost!" The man seems to just be an ordinary beggar, but a suspiciously nice dueling cane poked out of a pile of ash near the man.
  16. "Ah, the phantom! Appeared one day, just like you did. At first I thought it must be from your world as i'm always told it's such a dreary and dead place, but after talking more with Calden, he's my helper, I discovered that it from somewhere else. It killed a poor fellow the other night, his withered skeleton lay beside a burnt out campfire." You approach a door in the side of a rock. Outside you see a small skaa boy tending a garden. "Calden! I hope you didn't eat all the pork, because we have some guests tonight."
  17. Roger grumbled (as usual) and trugged a path through the underbrush snapping every branch in his way.
  18. "How did you know? Anyways, yes I will. I'll need some hard liquors to help them talk, and I promise I will drink less then half of it!" Now speaking to Jade "Jade! while you are out and about stealing things see if you can take a set of clothes and other possessions from a scribe in house Lekal. He looks a lot like me, only less dashing.
  19. "Well recently this place has been a hot spot for people and small things from some called the Cuzmire or something like that. This device is what makes me able to speak your language, but it has trouble translating a few things." Fane Looks sharply over "oooh, two in one day! What a treat!" Fane glances at the sun as it starts to approach the horizon. "You two should come with me! I'll explain to you what i've learned about this situation along the way, and if you stay in the forest the phantom will eat your soul!"
  20. Cane, now properly drunk, acted as sober as possible and approached Kelsier "what's my mission Survivor? Do you need me as a con artist again or do you have something more grand?"
  21. What the Kelek's name just happened?! ...Though that was funny to read, but I am also starting to regret reviving this thread...
  22. Cane stumbles to the shop bumping into Rax and barging through the door "I'm hheeeeerre!" He slurs. Cane then proceeds to scan the shop for alcohol to actually get drunk so he can pretend to be sober.
  23. Unfortunate coincidence. I'm basing it off my own allergies. Very small amounts (some powder mixed in his drink) will only give him a stomach ache and fever, more will cause some swelling and fatigue (half the usual bead), and a large dosage could be lethal (maybe one definitely two full beads).
  24. Thanks for pointing that out! So after you declare an attack you roll some dice, the amount and type are determined by the character sheet. For example if "Kaladin Bridgeman" were to make an attack the type of dice would be a D8 and he would roll two of them (2/0). Let's say that Kaladin was attacking Szeth, Szeth has a defense of 3/6 meaning that he has defence of 3 against melee and defence 6 against ranged. So if Kaladin rolled a 3 and a 5 he would score two hits and Szeth would lose two health. I hope this clarifies things and i'll work on adding this to the rulebook.
