*counts down seconds till end of school*

Rex flinched at the sound, losing her balance and stepping off the cushion.

Her breath caught in her throat but she shoved away panic. "It's okay, you can jump." She encouraged her.

Rex forced a smile and moved over on the cushion.

Oh no...
The guys at my school just discovered that I have noise sensitivity issues...

Rex hopped from the chair and onto a cushion.

Rex hesitantly let go of his hand and perched on the edge of a chair.

"Alright."

"Kind of...?" She said nervously.

"I uh... sure?"

"Rex."

She followed him, taking a deep breath.

"Thank you." She leaned her head on his shoulder.

"No..." She whispered, "I-I need to f-face my fears."

"Don't know."

She bit the inside of her lip, wanting to escape back to the silence, but also wanting to appear brave.

She opened the door. I don't know my way around...

"Good." She whispered, taking his hand and holding it firmly. She stood up and pulled him to his feet, walking towards the door.

She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "I think I'm ready then." She forced a smile.
