    "It... it was like a dream... but it happened. I felt it all... all over again." her voice wavered and her eyes pricked with tears but she tried to keep them stuffed down where they wouldn't escape.

    She breathed deeply, eyes closed and body mostly relaxed, enveloped in his arms and head against his chest. Rex could hear his heart in her ear, a steady and constant rhythm. It sounded... peaceful. So unlike the violent flashbacks. She shuddered at the thought, trying to push it away.

    "Thank you." She whispered, barely audible.

    ... okay. She snuggled closer to him, trying not to think about when he would eventually have to go back to his own room.

    Kittens are coming!

    Sapphire is in labor, so far she's had four and three of them didn't make it. :( 

    There might be more, but we'll see.

      Stick, it is NOT your fault that the kittens passed away. It’s part of the cycle of life. Sometimes we can’t do anything about it, and we have to live with the facts. Yes, it’s okay to grieve, and it’s okay to feel things. But it is not okay to blame yourself for these deaths that were completely out of your control. These kittens were in God’s hands. We love you ❤️
