  1. They weren't. They could hear soldiers marching down the hall in the distance, but they couldn't see them yet. --- Gem nodded. "Fine. Yep. Fine."
  2. They began running to the library. "Please let this go well..." --- "I guess. That makes sense."
  3. "Let's try the library. Bad stuff can't really happen in a library?" --- "That's... useful."
  4. Which means people need to start dying
  5. "Ah... could we... melt it down? Maybe?" Eublech says. "And uh... sorry for calling you a peasant." He says softly. He... he couldn't keep calling her that.
  6. "Do you know any good hiding places?" --- "What's so important about buttered bread?" Gem whispered to Kio, following him into the bunker. --- Delphi huddled in her room, silent, shaking, hoping desperately they wouldn't find her. She squoze her eyes shut. I'm not here... I'm not here... I'm not here... --- The soldiers marched on. One reported to the Seizer. "My lady. It appears many of them, well, they've left this... plane of reality. Should we send in the strike team?" --- Twain was a soldier. Once. That was before he met Rui. She'd... changed things. Convinced him to be more. To be a hero. That was what he would be today. A hero. He looked around him. A small, slimy bunker. The resistance... it was small. There wasn't much you could do against a multi-universe empire. But they fought hard. He drew his weapon. "I think it's time." He said softly. "Arm yourselves. Today... today we go to war."
  7. Elan caught her, helping her balance and stay on her feet. “Hide?” — The armies entered the clinic, weapons out. “Fire at will.”
  8. “I mean… I wouldn’t object…” I need the money… “Not that it’d add to my… uh… gigantic fortune. Peasant.”
  9. The door bent, creaked, and with one final BOOM fell inwards.
  10. Ryss nods. “You could barely keep track of it all.”
  11. The army prepared a large battering ram, and began slamming the gate. It began to bend and fold inwards. It’d probably be down soon.
  12. “I was there… once…” Ryss gets a far off look.
  13. “No. No it is not. Should we go check it out?”
  14. The army continued marching. Archers loaded explosive bolts, then fired them. The clinic shook violently, but the metal walls held. For now.
  15. It was a long story and never quite clear so I’ll just summarize As the story continued Ryss’s hatred of his author became more clear. “So, these… specters, ghosts, they stole my narration. All of it, gone, just like that. And… I was left detached. No longer anchored to this world. Just to my author. So I… well I took that attachment and pushed it. Not sure exactly what happened, but I ended up in my author’s place, and he was left down here. It also involved a specific skill set of mine, I think, but that may not be necessary.” Ryss takes a deep breath. “And that’s how it happened.”
  16. Elan caught her. “Never a dull moment. Wonder what that was…” — The wall of soldiers began advancing towards the gates and Trevor.
