  1. This is the year that the first railway line in Finland opened, between Helsinki and Hämeenlinna was opened. Hämeelinna sounds like Hammond if you try hard enough. Ham was my least favorite person in Kelsier’s crew (Marsh was my favorite.) 1862
  2. Rajib meditated. They felt the force all around them, connecting them to everything. He was the only soul in the Archives, everyone else went outside to meditate. Rajib never could focus outside. There, they felt life everywhere, their better-than-ordinary life-sensing abilities felt every blade of grass, every bird in the skies, making it near impossible to meditate. Though the physical barriers separating them from the outside helped with this somewhat, they could still feel little connections to other things out there. For all living things were connected, through the force. They primarily felt their own connections, tiny ones to inanimate objects, slightly larger ones to the books, their favorite inanimate objects, larger ones to plants such as the grass and trees outside, and the largest to their fellow Jedi meditating outside. One wasn’t, though, they thought, instead making…stairs out of force barriers? It always felt nice to see one’s place in the galaxy by feeling one’s connections to others. Yet today Rajib just couldn’t focus on meditating. They were certain there was nobody else in the archives, and so they allowed themselves to open one eye, then the other, and then rose from their chair. Technically all Jedi were supposed to meditate during this hour unless they had a good reason not to but…Rajib’s favorite author, Brrandeon Saandirsun, had just released a new book that Rajib was dying to read. In their mind, a very good reason not to meditate.
  3. I think that Laughterspren are the plate spren for Edgedancers. The seem to fit with the order’s theme, and are described as “silver,” like the Edgedancer Shardplate.
  4. Yeah, it’ll be book ten (the finale!) of the Stormlight Archive.
  5. I voted for Jasnah, who is my favorite Stormlight Archive character (excluding Nightblood, who’s with Marsh in a class of amazingness far above everyone else). I think at first, in Way of Kings, she fulfilled a widely found trope in literature, but as her character progressed she (in my opinion) became more and more amazing with coming back from the dead and being likely the first person in a long time to be in a romantic relationship with Hoid. I am very excited for her book, but it won’t be for another ten years at least.
  6. I love the idea of a Jawa Jedi! I believe the term you’re looking for is “Lekku.”
  7. Thank you. @Justice_MagicianI really like your doodle of cloud.
  8. This is my first time doing a 17th Shard RP, please let me know if I did anything wrong. Name: Rajib Quadradu Race: Human (Alderaanian) Age: 74 Physical Traits: Small amount of grey hair, large nose, light skin, has wrinkles. Rank: Master Lightsaber(s): Green crossguard lightsaber they have had since they were eleven Mastered Forms: I III VI Proficient Forms: II, V Force Abilities: Mastered Abilities: Very skilled at using the Force to sense for individuals within a given area, similar to Life Sense from Warbreaker) Proficient Abilities: They have some level of proficiency in pretty much all commonly used force abilities among Jedi, due to having spent so long in the order, but in recent years got much worse in abilities that use physical strength. Personality: Nerdy, Scholarly, reads a lot Backstory: Born on Alderaan and brought to the Jedi Temple as an infant, as a knight he was drawn into the Great Galactic War despite his hatred of fighting while training a Padawan, Kranchaanu (a wookie), then during the Cold War became a librarian-type person on Tython Other: Uses they/them pronouns, their biggest weakness is probably knowledge, and would do a lot to gain new knowledge, has some problems with trusting others after their friend betrayed them during the Great Galactic War.
  9. I always thought that Kiss Me, Son of God by They Might Be Giants works really well for The Lord Ruler.
  10. Nalan’elin, herald of justice, patron of the Skybreakers, the illuminator.
  11. Correct! That was faster than I had expected.
  12. No, but he is one my favorite characters 1. This person is in only one work by Sanderson 2. This person is not human 3. This person is on Scadrial 4. This person is a kandra
  13. “Journy before destination, you bastard” -Navani Kholin/Brandon Sanderson
  14. Mild era 2 spoilers: For those who don’t know, each shard has a God Metal associated with it (Lerasium, Atium, Raysium, etc.), and Harmony’s God Metal is Harmonium, or Ettmetal. Ettmetal is very hard to experiment with, due to it exploding whenever it comes in contact with water, and its Allomatic, Feruchemical, and Hemalurgical abilities are all unknown. I have no idea what its abilities in Allomancy or Hemalurgy would be, but I think anyone could store something in a Ettmetal metalmind, and storing would have no effect, but tapping would make you a full Feruchemist. The main reason I think this is how Atium and especially Lerasium work. Those are the god metals of Ruin and Preservation, which both are associated with magic systems, Hemalurgy and Allomancy. When Lerasium is burned (it can be burned by anyone) it turns the burner into a Mistborn, and an Atium spike steals any power, the crux of what Hemalurgy is. In both of those examples, using a God Metal in the Metallic art associated with it makes you able to use all of the more minor powers associated with (doesn’t fit exactly with Hemalurgy). So, I think Ettmetal has the same effect on Feruchemy. My theory is also somewhat supported by this WoB:
  15. Granted, but it becomes so spiky that it kills you whenever you drink it. I wish for a hemalurgic-spike filled cookie.
  16. I forget exactly, but I seem to recall some sort of non-violent Hemalurgy in era 2? I don’t really remember it though. I do think, in this case, that while progression could bring the person back to life, their spiritweb would be beyond repair, like being a Drab on Nalthis, except worse.
  17. I had always wanted to write a Stormlight Fanfiction, but never did until now. The working title is Watcher. The main story takes place during the same period as Oathbringer and Rhythm or War, but the prologue is significantly earlier. Prologue (spoilers for Rhythm of War): I’ll try to posted chapters daily. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  18. I was a spearman…but now I’m a bridgeman. I don’t know which one has less of a chance of getting yourself killed. I was probably made a bridgeman due to my many overdue library fines.
  19. I would guess that among Vorin Notetakers there would be more women then men, due to gender bias effecting their interests and the traits that spren look for in bonding people, but I doubt that the spren themselves would care. The same thing would not happen in non-Vorin nations. That wasn’t worded very well, I hope it’s understandable.
  20. I know that Brandon has been vague on the chronology of the Cosmere, but we know roughly that it’s White Sand, then Elantris, then Mistborn era one, Stormlight Archive, era 2. I was wondering if we knew when Emperor’s Soul took place. Around the same time as Elantris? Before? After?
  21. I was bored so I decided to make one. Knight Radiant Order: Notetakers Surges: Illumination and Cohesion Surge Combo: After using Cohesion on an object, they can modify it into an illusion for a great amount of Stormlight. True Spren: Archivespren Plate Spren: Exhaustionspren Resonance: Enhanced memory, not like Lightweavers, but instead they rarely forget things Ideal Theme: Recording Knowledge Oaths: First Ideal: LBD/SBW/JBD Second Ideal: I will record the knowledge I’ve found to share with others Third Ideal: I will help others record their knowledge Fourth Ideal: I will not attempt to record all the knowledge I know, as such a thing is impossible. Fifth Ideal: I have no idea, will have to wait until we get some sort of example besides the very vague Skybreaker’s. In the olden days, the Notetakers would serve as scribes or cartographers or bookkeepers to other orders of Knight Radiant, and would almost never be deployed on the battlefield.
  22. Komashi
  23. Nope. 1. This person is in only one work by Sanderson 2. This person is not human 3. This person is on Scadrial
