Anansi coughs up blood falling to the ground. Blood spills from his neck gruesomely. He struggles to breathe, shaking. He looks Elan in the eye, then to Eddie, as he is dying. He then looks at Cassian. Cassians eyes are wide open in shock. He looks upon his father with fear, horror, and mostly despair. This was the greatest man he had ever known, defeated by his love for his son. Anansi pulls himself desperately over Elan, using the last he has to tackle him. He covers his face roughly so he can’t breath. He holds himself there despite being stabbed over and over. He holds strong struggling through the pain. Cassian gets up and Elan passes out beneath him. Anansi coughs out a huge pool of blood. He looks up weakly at his son. He wraps his fingers around the yellow sunflower his little boy dropped. “Never loose your color son.” Cassian watches as his father goes limp, covered in blood. His eyes go cold and he leaves the sunflower in Cassy’s hands. Suddenly the entire world has gone cold. A dull black white and gray. Everything around him drained of color. His fathers color fading in this view. Till he goes completely black and white. Everything except for that little precious flower in his hand. That bright beautiful yellow shines above the rest. It shines like sunshine, it shines bright golden eyes, it shines like the bright colors of paint, and it shines like love. Overwhelming. Unending. Unconditional. Love. “Never…” He whispers back.

Anansi screams with pure rage. He breaks the cuffs and punches his fist into one of the peacekeepers. They are startled into a mad rush to help Eddie and to restrain Anansi, but its too late. Anansi barrels into Elan's chest, knocking him to the ground. "YOU HORRIBLE RUTHLESS MONSTER! HAVE YOU NO HEART!" He screams gripping at his shirt as they go tumbling.

Cassian screams and covers his face with his hands sobbing. "Daddy..." He drops something out of his hands. A sunflower falls to the ground on the platform. Anansi screams, his restraints starting to bend. "YOU LET HIM GO THIS INSTANT! DON'T YOU TOUCH MY SON! DON'T YOU TOUCH MY SON YOU MONSTER!"

Anansi feels the tears run off his face but he doesn't care. "PLEASE- PLEASE NO- PLEASE- I'LL DO ANYTHING- PLEASE DON'T TAKE HIM FROM ME- HE IS ALL I HAVE- I'LL DO ANYTHING- GIVE YOU WHATEVER YOU WANT-" Cassian feels tears well up himself. He starts to cry, his whimpers echoing. "No Miss Eddie..." He whispers ever so quietly.

Anansi continues to scream, but Cassian just looks at Eddie with fear. His golden brown eyes filled with horror. "I hate you.... oh how I hate you..." Cassy whispers before grabbing at a knife at her waist, trying to pull it out against her. "EDDIE PLEASE- GIVE ME MY SON BACK- SPARE HIM- SPARE HIM PLEASE- I BEG- PLEASE-" Salty tears stream down Anansi's face as he struggles against the peacekeepers. @Ancient Elantrian

Anansi hears the words of the tributes and hears the words that Eddie says, but its all a blur. His eyes sink in with tears. "You will never show him the kind of love he deserves..." He lunges forward trying to break the cuffs of the peacekeepers, but they hold him firm. "LET MY BOY GO- PLEASE-" He screams, but he is helpless to Eddie's hand.

Cassian is tugged towards her and he screams. His voice a high pitched shrill that can be heard through the whole arena. “DADDY HELP-“ Anansi hears the ear splitting cry of his son and closes his eyes. He feels tears start to well up. This can’t be true. How did they get here? Not a week ago he was tucking Cassian into bed with a goodnight kiss. He breathes heavily. He looks to the side of him, not daring to look his screaming son in the eye. “Eddie… please…” his voice drops low, begging.

Cassian scrambles around, trying to figure out what’s going on and how to escape when he sees a sight that makes his stomach drop. Daddy… He sees his father, his head hanging low as he is surrounded by peacekeepers. His hands cuffed and bound, he can see the fatigue and hopelessness in the way his face has almost aged like an old man loosing his hope in the world. Like a man who has lost his color. He screams. “DADDY!” His voice filled with horrible terror. He struggles between fleeing and running straight for him with the hope he will be wrapped up in his arms once more.

Suddenly the edges of the arena shoot up, the ground flying up into gigantic walls. Slowly it starts closing in. The roof of the arena begins to dim. As the walls build up the light on the sides get closed off and the top is all that casts light. Lightning and thunder sounds on the sky, and the sun starts to darken. Out of nowhere what looks like a star pops out and focuses a spotlight like beam on Eddie. The tributes have come to one knee before the risen platform Eddie stands on. Cassians invisible shield starts to fray and he gasps as the sides start closing in. There is no escape.

“But you’ll be okay- right-“ he sees them start to get pulled and he jumps. Cassian’s eyes go wide and bolts away trying to get to the edge of the arena, pulling the chicken with him. She’s here. He doesn’t dare look at them though, he doesn’t know his father is there.

Anansi allows himself to look up at the people fighting. There aren't many left and his heart drops when he doesn't see his son.

Anansi is shoved out with them against his will. He continues to hold his head low, staring at the ground beneath his feet. May their lives be taken in this place by those they have angered... He thinks to himself as they begin to enter the arena.

Anansi hangs his head low. He refuses to look any of them in the eye. He just whispers lowly. “As if throwing him in wasn’t enough for you monsters…” He feels a tear well up in his eye but he blinks it away.

Anansi is pulled out of the chair despite his thrashing as he gets cuffed up. He is escort about by many peacekeepers. They hold guns and tasers on them, marching him along. He stays silent, not wanting to say something that could get him shot. Cassian needs to hide…
