He looks to the side and dramatically holds out his arms. “Friends, family, lovers.” He does a little eyebrow wiggle, chuckling. “They all mean something to a person, they are our light in this dark world. Tonight we gather here to bring in the family of a popular tribute this year. You all know her quite well, some of them better than others.” An image of Tinker pops up on the screen behind him as if accidentally and he waves his hand at it, shooing it away. He straightens his tie with a big round smile. “But tonight we are celebrating the family of this tribute. Please give a warm welcome to the family of Marewill!” He waves them over.

Èmeric straightens his tie as he looks into the mirror, gently spritzing his cologne onto the crease of his collar. “préparez-vous à faire rouler les caméras.” He waves to one of the cameramen next to him and they run to tell the rest of the production team. His polished shoes gently tap the hardwood floor as he makes his way up to the couch sitting on the circular platform in front of the camera. He settles on the left side of the couch, sitting rather comfortably with his one propped up on the other. He looks behind him at the screen, now displaying footage from the forest in the arena, rather peaceful at the moment. He makes a rolling motion with his finger and sees the red light blink on the cameras. An announcers voice comes over the speakers. “Ladies and Gentlemen please put your hands together for your favorite fighting Frenchman! Èmeric Moreau!” He flashes the camera a daring smile and holds up his hand, playfully waving to it with a small laugh. “bon après-midi, bon après-midi.” He smiles. “Or good afternoon for you English speakers.” He laughs. “I’ve got a special little treat tonight for all those watching so gather around little ones you are going to want to hear this.” He looks to a man on the side and slightly nods, suddenly the footage begins to broadcast to the arena from the sky.

“Escort them here, let’s treat them to a dinner and an interview. I would love to hear what her family’s view on the game is.”

Èmeric sits at his desk and turns to the others. “Can we organize an interview with this Mare-will’s Family by chance?” @Ancient Elantrian @Experience “I need to give the people a story to root for.”

He looks up at him. “This has been planned for weeks. You knew about this.” He swats him away. “If you want to paint you better get going already otherwise you’ll run out of time.”

Overhead the clouds move in front of the sun, the world gets dark like night.

He thinks for a moment. “Shall I send in another disaster? Make people flock to the Casino? Or perhaps something more gruesome to keep the action? We have a lot of viewers placing millions of dollars in bets on many of those in the casino, we need to mix it up a bit. Kick some of them out, they can’t stay there forever.”

Émeric sits in his chair, watching the screen with his chin resting on his hand gently. He narrows his eyes at the screen. He then presses a button, a small microphone lighting up for the Gambler. ”How is the business?” His English is slightly broken, his French accent quite thick. @Ancient Elantrian

He nods and turns back to the screen. “Paint as much as you want, just make sure your studies are completed before M. Noailles arrive this evening. I expect you to be impressing their daughter…”

He watched the screens as they fight. His English wasn’t perfect so he just brushed over it. “I can only offer them what they are willing and capable of receiving…” He watches the screen and whispers. “même si je prie pour qu'ils vivent.” He leans over and the microphone on Tinker clicks. “You know what you have to do…” It clicks silent. @The Bookwyrm

He looks at Gavin's eyes and saw panic, the father in him grew a sense of fear. He pulls his hand off of him gently. He stands up and looks at him softly. His voice is quiet. "Qu'est-ce qui ne va pas... qu'est-ce que j'ai fait..." He speaks softly, nothing commanding or demanding in his tone.

He smiles back slightly and rubs his hair with his hand playfully. “You are quite right. Now do you have any ideas I could put into play that may boost their ‘blossoming love’ Mr. Creative?” it’s stupid to think that such children wouldn’t want happiness even if they’ve gone to die, if I can provide just a few with temporary joy then maybe some will leave with lasting happiness

He just watches his eyes for a moment. "No really... son.. you have so many... Des idées dans ta petite tête. Just speak them out." He waits a moment. "I see them as a song, one with a tune and a melody that will flow together. I see a blossoming love in them if they weren't in these games, so I will give them that little joy before one of them has to depart. Something to remember... something to be remembered by..." He looks at Gavin. "Que voyez-vous ? Ne mentez pas, mon cher."

He places his hand on Gavin's shoulder, reaching up slightly as he sits in his chair. His eyes meet his, they are a soft color but they speak passion, not for evil but for entertainment and showmanship. "What do you see in those two tributes right there?" He points to the screen showing the two under the tree, Tinker and Marewill.

“Then you work to keep her alive.” It clicks off and he spins in his chair. “Son…” His eyes soften a little. “Come here, let me show you something.” He holds out his hand to wave him over.

He just looks at him for a moment before sighing and speaking in English. “You disappoint me more everyday.” But he didn’t push him any further, he simply sat down at the desk at the sound of the tributes voice. He whispers into it gently, his accent thick. “I am pleased… temporarily.” It clicks quiet for a second and clicks again. “As long as the girl is alive, so will you be.”

A little beep can be heard falling from the sky during the storm. The wind blows it but you can hear it faintly. Off in the distance you see a little red light. It slowly floats to the ground and grass amidst all the rain, a parachute. @The Bookwyrm @Spark of Hope
