  1. “Ok.” She reluctantly stood up, then helped him to his feet. “Let’s go.”
  2. She checked her coin pouch. “A small one.”
  3. “Ok, let’s do that.”
  4. “We probably can…I’m just not sure how to.”
  5. “Oh, umm…I’ve always just taken what I’ve needed from people.”
  6. “What did you mean?”
  7. Eventually, Helda sat up. “We need to do something about money.”
  8. “If you say so.” She stayed there for a long while, more relaxed than she had been for a long while.
  9. “I’m sorry for waking you.”
  10. “I…don’t know. How did you sleep?”
  11. “No, not with you.”
  12. “It seems like one, doesn’t it? I’m glad it’s not.”
  13. She was still looking up at his face. “Good morning.”
  14. Helda woke, feeling something holding her back. She struggled for a moment, then remember it was Tayen’s arms around her. She looked up at his face, so calm when he was asleep, and smiled.
  15. She melted into the embrace, his arms perfectly holding her. Slowly, she drifted off into an even sleep.
  16. “I just need you.” She snuggled up a little closer to him.
  17. She gave a small sigh of relief. She was visibly trembling, even in the dark. “Wii you protect me from them? From the nightmares?” - - - “I don’t know. Are you capable of taking care of yourself?” @Just-A-Stick
  18. Helda heard Tayen’s breathing slow and become a steady beat. She couldn’t sleep though. Each time she tried, she was woken by nightmares, each more horrible than the last. They had something to do with the bodies she had used… Around midnight, she crawled off the bed and slid down next to Tayen. She leaned against him gently, hoping he would wake and save her.
  19. “Ok. Do that.”
  20. “Tayen? Are you ok?”
  21. “You’re planning to not wake me up, aren’t you,” she said, half jokingly.
  22. “It’s decidedly better than nothing. So, how do you want to split this? I can take the first half of the night on the ground if you’d like.”
  23. She blushed yet again.
  24. “Alright,” she said. She paid the innkeeper, who winked at her as she walked passed.
  25. “It’s not your fault.”
