“Do it,” Daniel said urgently. Helda touched Rex’, then went limp, entering Rex‘s body.

Daniel set her down gingerly. “Can you help her?” Helda went with him.

She gasped again, then looked at Jacin expectantly.

“I see. And I can see why he wanted to drink himself to death.” She shot Xenk a disgusted look.

“And?” Daniel asked. “Surely someone here can help.” - - - “Should we do something?” Helda asked Tayen.

The girl gasped. “The audacity! Why are you traveling with him?”

“That sounds perfect, thank you!” - - - Daniel burst into the room, carrying Rex. “Get this girl a healer!”

“That’s exactly right,” she said with another laugh.
