Daniel left and came back a minute later with a glass.

“Do you need anything?”

He took it, squeezing it gently. “Then I’m doing fine.”

“Are you? That will determine my answer.”

Daniel sighed in relief.

Daniel watched and waited anxiously.

“Where do we need to take her?”

“She cut her hand, I did the best I could to stitch it, but she’s hurting badly, she needs a professional.”

“Please, quickly!” Daniel yelled, looking down at Rex with concern.

Daniel looked at her, worried. He caught her as she stumbled, then lifted her into his arms and carried her into the hospital. “I need a doctor!”

“Here, we need to get you to that hospital. It’s right there,” he said, pointing.

“I think we’re almost there. Is your hand ok?”
