I saw a pretty heated argument that Nightblood was actually made of Nicrosil, and that's how it holds so much Investiture. But I still think it's made of Steel.

In Era 1 of Mistborn, we knew very little of Realmatic Theory, but now we know a lot more. So I was wondering if we could figure out how all the Allomantic Metals work realmatically.
Physical
Iron: I'm not convince that Iron and Steel can only affect metal. I'm beginning to think more and more that they can affect the fundamental forces (https://wob.coppermind.net/events/482/#e15319). I think that burning creates a Connection between you and the metal close to you, and then Lurchers can manipulate that Connection to cause the metal to become closer to them.
Steel: I think Steel is the same, except the Connection Manipulation causes the metal to become further away.Tin: We know Tin enhances your mental capabilities (https://wob.coppermind.net/events/270/#e7551) so that you can take in all the stimuli, but what is actually giving you the senses? I'd guess your Cognitive Aspect is enhanced, maybe heightening your Connection to the Physical Realm so that you are more aware of it?
Pewter: I'd say that Pewter brings your Physical Aspect closer to your Spiritual Apect, and maybe powers your muscles with Investiture.Mental
Zinc: I think there was a WOB (though I can't find it) that says the Zinc and Brass lap against your Spiritual Aspect, which contains your emotions. If there are holes in your Spiritweb, like from Hemalurgy, then the Zinc or Brass can "break into" your Spiritweb and take control. It probably also forges a Connection between you and the "recipient'. While lapping at your Spiritweb, it would expand the emotion part, flaring your emotions.
Brass: Brass would do the same as Zinc, except it would reduce the emotions while lapping at the Spiritweb.Copper: Copper dampens all Tones around them, and prevents changes to their Spiritual Aspect (prevents Rioting or Soothing). It can prevent most forms of detection, most likely because they use access to Tones (it can evade Lifesense and Secretspren). It could probably also stop a lot of Stormform Singers from bringing the Everstorm because they wouldn't be able to hear the Rhythms.
Bronze: Bronze is one of the most Realmatically cool metals. Bronze allows you to sense Kinetic Investiture by Connecting you to the Pure Tones of Scadrial (or probably whatever planet you're on) so that you can hear when people use Preservation's power. They can sense most types of Active Investiture, using these Rhythms.Temporal
Gold: Gold most likely brings a manifestation of yourself that could once have been seen using Fortune. Fortune shows branching paths, so the gold Shadow probably Connects you to one of these paths, causing you to see what you coud have been.
Electrum: Electrum gives you a tiny glimpse into the Spiritual Realm, giving you access to your Fortune.Cadmium: Cadmium and Bendalloy are hard. I think that Cadmium maipulates the Connection between your surroundings and time, allowing your surrounding's time to go by slower. It also sends all extra energy into the Spiritual Realm to prevent redshift (I swear I saw a WoB for this, but I can't find it).
Bendalloy: Bendalloy is similar to Cadmium, but the manipulation of Connection allows your surrounding's time to move faster.Enhancement
Aluminum: So Brandon still hasn't decided what exactly happens between two scenarios (at least according to what I've seen). The first scenario is that Aluminum immdeiately metabolises all metals in your body. The second (which I like more), is that it severs the connection of the metals to Preservation, so that they can no longer act as a key. I've also heard that it gets rid of all Investiture inside your body, but that can't be true, seeing as all living beings contain Investiture.
Duralumin: Duralumin basically mega-flares your active metals, causing all of your metals to be burned. I really don't know what to say here, I would love to hear your thoughts.Chromium: Chromium does what Aluminum does, but it effects another person's Spiritweb, so maybe it makes a Connection?
Nicrosil: Same with Duralumin, but maybe it also makes a Connection?God-Metals
Atuim: Atium gives you a glimpse into the Spiritual Realm, giving you access to the Fortune of people around you. It also enhances your Cognitive Aspect, allowing you to comprehend all the Atium Shadows around you. It also seems to be a Mental Temporal Metal
Lerasium: Lerasium rewrites your Spiritweb, creating a Connection with any shard whose Godmetal Lerasium is alloyed with. If you take pure Lerasium, you are Connected to Preservation, making you a Mistborn. Lerasium basically forges Connection and changes the Spirit Web. It also seems to be a Physical Enhancement MetalI would love to know what you think, as my Realmatic knowledge is not very good.

SA Spoilers
That's not really the fault of the Radiant though. That's just the Spren being unable to leave Roshar due to its nature, and since the powers are linked to the Spren, Surgebinding can't be taken off Roshar. There is nothing holding the Radiant themselves back. Besides, there is a way to get Spren off Roshar, but only Hoid knows it so far.
SpoilerDo we know that Hoid can get Spren off of Roshar?

The stone armor would be invested yes.
How Invested does something need to be to resist a Shardlbade? I'm pretty sure Kaladin sliced through the awakened sheet that Vasher threw at him. And shardblades experience more drag when going through Humans, although that may be because of their Spiritucal Aspect, not how Invested they are.
How Invested is Shardplate? It's made up of a bunch of Spren, so are they more or less Invested than Invested Stone. Vasher can sense invisible Spren with his life sense, so they're probably more invested.

That's awesome! Well done!

Moreover a 3rd Ideal Stoneward (or 2nd) can make himself a stone armor, like Toph did with stone bending, why not. It would be equally as hard to penetrate as a Shardplate. And this is within the realms of possibility, without arguing if he can make his skin or clothes as hard and sturdy as a Shardplate, using rocks would be more in range for them, and be easy.
I'm confused, why would the stone armour be harder to cut through than normal stone? Shardblades can cut through stone like it's almost nothing, and I though that they couldn't cut through Shardplate because the Plate is invsested, not because of its toughness. Would the stone armour be as invested as Shardplate?

This is an interestnig question! I have a sort-of followup question on top of it.
If Rysn somehow managed to begin storing age in an Atiummind (don't question how), and then taps it to become younger. If she taps it to the time before she lost the use of her legs, would she be able to walk? Or would her legs still be paralysed. Does it have anything to do with the Cognitive Asepct? Or is it entirely based on your Spiritual Self?

We did not see a persons broken body be healed by a Shard, and yet it is not impossible.
Didn't Harmony heal Spook from his burns at the end of HoA?

Hello all!
I have recently started editing on the coppermind, and I'm really in awe of how much there is! I love the Cosmere, and have listened to almost all of it through Audiobooks. I think that it could be quite a useful insertion to the pages if the pronunciations were written on the pages according to how Micheal Kramer and Kate Reading pronounce them.I don't know if this is an idea that has been put out before, so I would love some input.
Thanks!!0 -

All soft-skinned Earth-like animals came with humans from Ashyn. Birds, chickens, horses, pigs etc. They were placed in Shinovar. But humans invade the rest of Roshar. They would take their livestock with them, their horses, pigs and minks (also partially domesticated) and other domesticated animals. They keep caring for them and make them safe during Highstorms. That's how they spread across the whole of Roshar. Other animals, like moles (?), minks and rats just left Shinovar on their own, as few resilient wild animals for example moles (were those moles or something different?) settled around Urithiru using snow as a soil.
Thanks for your thorough answer. I wonder if bringing all of those aninals was intentional, since some probably weren't very useful. In my copy of WoR, Shallan mentions jellyfish, so I wonder if they were brought with the humans from Ashyn as well.

This is why I'm so excited for Mistborn Era 3. Using the scientific method on Investiture!

I was under the impression that all animals native to Roshar have gemhearts, like Chulls, Cremlings, Singers, etc. The reason animals in Shinovar don't have Gemhearts is because the humans brought them with them from Ashyn. But, there are animals that seem to be domesticated outside of Shinovar that don't have Gemhearts. My main question is pigs and hogs, they seem to be domesticated outside of Shinovar, but without Gemhearts.
Were they possibly orignially from Shinovar, but enough were bred outside that they are commonplace in most of Roshar?

And Drinking contest: Kaladin (Stormlight for the win)
Well, Pewter can be pretty good against alcohol. I think they would both just drink until their supplies (pewter and stormlight) ran out.

Rating: As I understand it, this is basically a slider but with extra weirdness. 3/10, as it ain’t really much of a twinborn.
It took me until now to realise that the ratings are for how good the combination is, not how good having both powers would be.

I guess it depends on the kind of speed involved. For maximum peak speed, yeah, Duralumin A-Bendalloy (maybe throw in F-Steel too) probably wins. But bubbles are small, so over a distance they don't really help (given the necessary delay between bubbles).
Bendalloy savants are able to move with their speed bubbles, which could make that work.

...and I'm going to say, Ati the Vessel of Ruin (whence the derived god-metal atium gets its name) had something of a bullying, entitled, overconfident side to him, independent of being Ruin, as if he'd originally been some kind of aristocrat.
Minor spoiler for the Way of Kings epigraphs:
SpoilerIn Hoid's letter to Frost, he says that Ati was a kind and generous man before he took the Shard
QuoteAti was once a kind and generous man, and you saw what became of him.

SpoilerIt's not always about authority. It depends on the thing you're trying to soulcast. Stone requires coersion, while gas requires discipline.
Quote"Remember, you mustn’t order stones, as they are more stubborn than men. Use coercion. Speak of freedom and of movement. But for a gas becoming a solid, you must impose discipline and will. Each Essence is different, and each offers advantages and disadvantages when used as a substrate for Soulcasting."

I mean, what's more metal a Shardic name than DiSCoRD? It'll be the lashing-out-at-everything phase that Sazed the Rebellious Terrisman never really went through in life, LOL.
If we want to relate Discord to a type of music, look no further than the name: DISCOrd! King of the 80's music.

One way to fulfill the original issue is to merely turn it into a harmonium-water bullet. The explosion would not be so big as to endanger the user and it would fit inside the shell. An impact based bullet would be best; the only issue is the firing mechanism setting off the shell

I think it's implied that Breeze is a savant (and Allrianne might be too, but it doesn't seem like it as much).
He's proabably something like a mini-savant. We know from TLR that a zinc or brass savant can pierce copperclouds with their rioting or soothing, but Breeze can't. I wonder if there are levels to savanthood?

There is also another thing that you wrote there with which I disagree, but I see no point in pointing that out
You can't just say that and then not elaborate.

God! So many choices!
I would love to have bronze, seeing as you can fall asleep on command, sleep for as long as you want, and then use that stored sleep whenever you want. You ever needed to pull an all-nighter? They just got a lot easier!
Electrum might also be nice. Building up the motivation to do things can be hard sometimes, so getting a bit of a boost could definitely be helpful. You could probably just store it while watching a TV show something. Something where it would take more work to turn it off than to keep doing it.
Zinc is obviously great, for all the reasons already listed in this forum.
Same goes for tin.
Bendalloy could be very nice, seeing as you could choose when to be full. No more wasting food! Every calorie counts! Then, you could go days without eating.
I don't get hurt too often, so gold might not be the most useful to me.
I love the idea of Feruchemist scholars, like we saw in WOA. Just study with heightened mental awareness, with loads of knowledge at your fingertips, an ability to be as determined as you'd like to finish something, and no need to eat, sleep, go to the bathroom, breathe, put on jumpers to regulate your body temparature, and the ability to write incredibly fast.

Pain
Tapping: This one is a bit of an oddball of the group. Generally, tapping is supposed to be the benefit, but here, it usually isn’t. However, if you are a sucker for spicy things, this could potentially help.
Storing: Honestly, all I have to say is never getting headaches again, but I’ll say more. If you’re a sports player, that injury that you know is okay, but still hurts won’t be an issue. Also, burning yourself isn’t as bad as it used to be, which is nice. One of the most interesting applications, however, is not having limbs falling asleep. The pins and needles are a nerve response, so theoretically, this would cut it off. Also, would that mean physical anxiety symptoms and nerves from upcoming performances could dissipate as well? Probably. For an anxious human like myself that has really irritating physical symptoms, that would be very nice indeed.
I always thought Pain was stored in a Touchmind (is that what it would be called?). So, when you store it you're just feeling less, and therefore feel less pain. Would it work for a headache? Are you actually feeling the headache, and if so, how would you store it?
