The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
Ascended Grubberfly replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
"You dare call me the idiot," Skylight yelled. "I'm not the one who conned the Witherlord." Skylight fell into an aggressive stance, Mordite blade pointed towards Glyer's throat. "You are the one who killed these people. You are responsible for this entire mess." Skylight drew his side knife. "May your death bring life to those remaining." Skylight swung his blades, feeling the voice inside lending him strength. ________ What is good? The angel expelled the Witherlord from Heaven, so was he evil? The Void in the companion said that the Witherlord did what it was designed to do. Chaotic-Void fulfilled its purpose, same as Ordered-Light. What is evil? Heaven showed a conflict on the other side of the Thread. Men dying for the sin of existing. Pain. Suffering. What am I? Neither side answered. They couldn't. Why?- 111829 replies

If all 10 spren are willing, you can have all surges. Realistically you only need to bond 5 spren to get all 10 surges, but some orders may have slightly different surges for different reasons. Not sure where this came from. Surges are good, but don't make someone omnipotent. Even Shards have limits. Stormlight is Stormlight. You can use it for all of them regardless of the Oath sworn. However, it might be that only certain orders get Stormlight then they swear an oath. Not sure, but doesn't affect the answer too much. Bondsmiths and perpendicularities are unclear right now, as Dalinar is an exception it seems with summoning Honor's perpendicularity, and Ishar summoned one other than Honor's. However, A Bondsmith may be able to increase the amount of Stormlight gained by increasing connection to the SR. Most Bondsmith interactions supercharge the Surge in someway. Shallan's Lightweaving didn't require a drawing because Dalinar provided a Connection. The Elsegate that brought humans to Roshar might have involved a Bondsmith, but I don't remember. Odds are other Orders get benefits from a Bondsmith. As of right now, we don't know what happens if your Orders share a Surge. I would bet you would have a greater affinity for that surge. The Reverse Lashing is called a Resonance, and that is because the two powers react in some way that produces another effect. From the Resonance page on the Coppermind: Our hypothetical super-Radiant may develop Resonances, but the strength may be weakened by the amount of Investiture that they hold. It is equally likely that they develop entirely new Resonances that other people couldn't get. Hope this helps.

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)

The little companion floated gently behind. It was embarrassed by the lecture earlier, and had remained quiet through the entire trip to Heaven. Standing before the golden gates was an incredible experience. Many dreamed of this moment, though few saw it come to life. The ball watched the stunned guards shake awake and panic at the sudden appearance of everything they stood against. Should it help? Who to help? The Witherlord had chastised it when it tried to help, but seemed to be fine when others did what it wanted. Could the ball open the doors? Would that be ok? Should it kill the guards? Wait...where had that come from? The Void pulsed inside. It had corrupted the ball during the journey, aligning it with the darkness. The tiny companion stood motionless. For inside it, a battle raged. _____________ "Pay attention!" Skylight screamed. He hated a combatant that ignored the fight. He leapt on the aide, trying to use his weight to force the Mordite knife into his opponent. What should we do about the dragon? "Nothing," Skylight whispered as he fell on his opponent. "We shall take the Blade and run. We can escape this cursed Thread and find somewhere to rule." But, what about my friends? "What friends? Everyone you tried to interact with grew to hate you. They are scared of you, and you are scared of them." But, you are the one who drove them away. Skylight remembered time on a world with real friends, time spent soaring in the sky and being close to the sun. They had nicknamed him Skylight for that. He missed those people. "They would grow to hate you eventually." But that's only because of you. "No." Yes. "NO!" "YES!" Skylight screamed and forced the knife down. The poor aide withered and died. "I will not let you take this chance from me. I will live for myself and my friends. You WILL submit to that." The voice in Skylight withdrew. "Vlanis!" Skylight yelled across the chaos, "Thanks for the distraction! Here, take this knife and see if you can finish off the other whithergiests." Skylight kicked the aide's dagger across the room so it slid to Vlanis's feet. "I bet Glyer's Blade can finish of that dragon. Once I get it, let's take it together!" He offered a salute with the knife, then turned to Glyer. "Hello Glyer. I'm afraid I have a favor to ask of you."- 111829 replies

AonDor is overpowered
Ascended Grubberfly replied to asharan the truthwatcher's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Raoden could do almost anything. However, AonDor is severely limited by the fact that Raoden would have to know so many Aons and modifiers. Plus, AonDor is somewhat limited in combat because you have to draw an Aon instead of using a mental command to use a Surge. Aluminum may also be a counter, or at least offer protection from, an Elantrian. -

I really prefer the older Zelda games to the new ones. I missed the big dungeons and puzzles, and some of the boss fights sometimes had pretty interesting gimmicks. BotW is just flurry-rush-mania. -

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)

Peak Skylight ran for the stage, but noticed one aide who had been separated from his companions. Skylight watched the man finish off a withergeist, then droop is sudden exhaustion. Skylight smiled and redoubled his efforts, sprinting for his target. His opponent swung desperately, but Skylight grabbed the man's wrist and twisted, then forced the target's legs out from under his body. Skylight let out a cheer. "I have missed this far too much." He turned to Glyer, who stood on the stage with only a single attendant. He then looked to 9/10 fighting desperately against the wizard. A voice deep inside Skylight vibrated, pleading with himself to help his new friends. You must learn little one, Skylight said to the voice, to command rather than beg. Skylight dashed off to the sounds of man crying for those he wants to help.- 111829 replies

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
Ascended Grubberfly replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Skylight slips a pair of brass knuckles onto his hands. "Ah, another friend. Care for a bit of fun?" His previous uncertainty and lack of skill at conversation that I totally included in dialogue because I have much experience at writing and rp'ing faded away into raw ambition. "This 'murdite' stuff seems unreliable, but I don't doubt Glyer has a pure blade for himself." He also eyes Glyer's Plotblade with hunger in his eyes. "And a prize that I want to try for." So, um, @NameIess I hope you don't mind if I try to rob Glyer.- 111829 replies

Skylight walks over to aide who just spoke. "Hey man, can we please just calm down. I'm sure I can get my friends here to calm down." Wait. He's not an authority figure... "Oops, so actually I doubt I can. Could you let them work it out?" Skylight likes this man less by the second. "Hey, 9/10 and... Ennalee was it? You guys up for... WHY IS 9/10 PHASING THROUGH THE WALL?" He paused and turned to Ennalee "Does he, do this often?"- 111829 replies

"I didn't even try to antagonize him!" Skies aflame, this is why he didn't like people. They just took friendly greetings and reacted irrationally. Skylight calmed himself. This person seemed to want to help. "Thanks for the tip, got any other nuggets of wisdom. Such as what his Plotblade might even let him do?"- 111829 replies
