  1. "I don't know. They definitely still want to kill us, that much is clear. This hospital isn't safe, I don't think. If I could get some stormlight, I could heal our wounds, but I don't really have the funds to get much more."
  2. "I don't know! They might have had somebody who a real worker at the hospital who spotted us, or we were tailed after Mare and I left the police station."
  3. "Somebody ordered them to retreat once their original plan didn't work." Mark whispered. "Somebody the Coinshot was willing to obey even though he was winning our fight. There was also a third person in there, but I don't think he was Invested."
  4. Mark looked around, eventually spotting Tinker after an embarrassingly long moment. He rushed over. "Are you okay?" He whispered, crouching down.
  5. "Tinker!" Mark shouted louder.
  6. Mark walk swiftly down the hallway where the fight had happened, following the trail of broken pieces of the walls from the Brute's missed strikes and guessing that Tinker had made his way to the exit. He walked over that way, getting more and more panicked at the silence throughout the hallway. He arrived at the exit. "Tinker?" He asked tentatively.
  7. He was able to get to the exit without being caught by the Brute, who was now out of stored strength. Or, at least, he didn't seem to be tapping it anymore and was slowing down because of it. Once Tinker had gotten too far away from the Brute, he turned away and left.
  8. There were signs pointing back towards where Mark had come from for an exit, and also one on the other side of the hospital. It wouldn't take long to get there. --- Mark started making his way back into the hospital, limping from the wound on his leg. At least it won't take long to find a doctor, He thought.
  9. The Brute, who went after Tinker, was still pursuing, but was growing more and more frustrated, to the point of him abandoning his dagger on the ground where he had thrown it and just trying to tackle Tinker with large leaps, which weren't difficult to dodge. --- The third guard, who was in the hospital, not fighting anybody, picked up his radio and said 'Requesting reinforcements at the hospital! The Edgedancer and the Mistborn are here!" There was a moment of silence before somebody on the other side answered. "Get out of there. We'll have to catch one of them alone." --- The Coinshot, who also had one of the radios (I don't think I specified he did earlier, but it kind of just makes sense that he does) hears the command and charges past Mark in the hospital front lobby, exiting the door and sprinting until he found an anchor to push off of, which was a sewer grate. --- The Brute growls angrily at the command from the radio. He taps more strength, ignoring it and charging recklessly towards Tinker and Marewill.
  10. Mark summoned his Blade as a large riot shield, with spikes on the bottom. He rammed it into the ground behind him, mostly blocking the hallway. He dashed off the other way. He had forgotten about the other 'guard' at the end of the hallway. This one lifted his glass dagger towards him, though one look at Mark's Shardblade quickly made him back off. Mark was almost back outside when he realized that Tinker didn't have as direct of a route to the exit. Hopefully there's a back door or something. He sighed in relief when he saw the coinshot chasing him down, but it looked like the Brute had gone after Tinker and Marewill. "Rusts," He muttered, throwing a Sharddagger towards him. The coinshot pushed off of the pins on a billboard on the side of the room, dodging around the projectile. The Coinshot spat a coin from his mouth, sending it quickly through the air towards Mark. Should have expected that. The coin struck Mark in the thigh, and he gritted his teeth at the pain. He sent another dagger towards the Coinshot, though he dodged again. This isn't a fight I can win. Mark summoned a shield and kept backing away, hoping to at least give Tinker enough time to escape. He blocked a few other projectiles from the Coinshot, which he thought were metal-nibbed pens he took from the front desk, though he didn't take much time to look.
  11. Mark shouted, a random, odd yelp that was mostly to distract the enemy. He charged in at the Brute, swinging his Blade. The Brute backed off, unable to parry, and not willing to fight the one who had taken down the ten Marksmen before him. The Coinshot lunged to the side, snatching a coin from the ground and throwing it towards Mark. Mark dove to the side, but the coin caught him in on the hip and threw him backwards, though the Push ended once it was piercing his skin. He groaned in pain. "Run!" He shouted.
  12. Mark flung his Sharddagger towards the Brute, trying to distract him from Tinker and Marewill. He dodged out of the way of the dagger, throwing his own knife towards Mark. The Coinshot, out of coins, Pushed a button off of his shirt, the last piece of metal on him. The dagger and the button flew towards Mark, who dropped down to the ground under the projectiles. He lunged forwards, resummoning his Blade as a long spear to try and hit the Brute, but the enemy managed to avoid him.
  13. The Coinshot's coins were more difficult to dodge, but it was possible. The Brute was standing directly between him and Tinker, so he kept having to shoot from the side, lest he hit his ally. The Brute, on the other hand, was just that. A brute. He swung hard and without accuracy, though a single hit from him would be devastating. After a bit of back and forth, one of the coins managed to strike, though it was only a negligible slice along Tinker's arm. Mark came running down the hallway. "Stop!" He shouted, flaring away the last of his brass. He had more at home, but, not expecting him to need it, had only brought a single vial with him. He didn't really like Soothing. It felt unfair, to tamper with the emotions of those around him. He only reserved it's use for when he needed it, or if he knew that the person he was Soothing deserved to be messed with. The Brute froze, scared, but the coinshot reacted quickly and pushed against a pair of coins, sending them his way. He was, however, running out of coins. Not being a full Mistborn, he was unable to Pull coins back to him, and manually picking them up off of the ground would leave him far too vulnerable to attack. Mark manifested his Blade as a shield, and the two coins struck it. He was thrown violently backwards, but so was the Coinshot. The Coinshot stopped his push before he slammed into the wall behind him, satisfied with the distance that Mark had been pushed away.
  14. Welcome to the shard! What's your favourite cosmere novel?
  15. The coinshot tossed another bunch of coins into the air, pushing them towards Tinker. He seemed confused that the first few attacks hadn't worked, as if he didn't truly know the extra agility that pewter granted. ---- Mark was stopped by another man in a security uniform when he went towards the hallway with Marewill's room. "Sir, we can't let you through." Mark flared brass, soothing away all of the man's emotions except for one. Fear. A shardblade appeared in his hand, and he lifted it towards the guard. "Are you actually a guard, or are you a Marksman?" "I-Uh-" The so-called guard held up his hands, dropping his glass dagger to the ground. "I didn't do anything!" "Let me pass." Mark said coldly, shoving past him. He was a few steps past when he heard the 'guard' pick up a radio and say 'The Edgedancer's here.'
  16. The 'guard', Kirian jumped towards Tinker, knife stabbing towards him. Kirian didn't seem terribly skilled, and the stab didn't have much force and was off-center. ----- Mark was inside the hospital now, sprinting past the real security guards who looked at him and tried to stop him.
  17. Dierer tossed the coins into the air, Pushing hard on them towards Tinker. The other, Kirian, stepped away from the Coinshot and pulled a glass dagger out from within his jacket.
  18. The 'guard' paused, as if he hadn't considered this. "Uh. There are other guards dealing with the rest of the patients-" He was cut off as the other man, holding a few coins in his hand, stepped through the door. "Rust all of this. You two are coming with us." The guard sighed in relief. "You're terrible at lying, Kirian." The other man scolded. "You were supposed to be in the uniform, Dierer." Kirian answered. "Either way, let's just grab them and go." Dierer said.
  19. The guard comes back through the door a few moments later. Silent, he walks over to Marewill's bed and starts wheeling it out the door.
  20. The guard seemed hesitant. There was a rhythmic tapping from outside. Three, then two. Three, then two. The guard paused. "Allow me to speak to my superiors, if you will." He stepped outside the door. The two walked a few steps away so they couldn't be heard, wary of any tin Tinker might be burning. ----- Mark was still running. He was in the front lawn area of the hospital now.
  21. The guard paused. "What?" He seemed genuinely shocked. He didn't speak more for a while. ---- Mark was nearing his house when the Killer's constant grumbling got to him. "Fine! What is it!" He shouted, not caring at this point if he was overheard. Mark, you were trying to figure out who the most vulnerable person is that they would try to attack- It's not going to be any of the people at the house. Why would they attack people with weapons, guarded by Invested, if they could just attack the person who's bedridden in the hospital? "Oh, no.." Mark turned around, back towards the large building. He wasn't that far away, though he had been walking quickly in his anger. "Rusts." He started running back towards the hospital. That man had been a copper burner, probably. He'll hide his ally's allomancy so the real security guards, if they have a Seeker, can't locate them. He had some kind of extra strength, so he was probably a pewter Feruchemist. A Brute. Mark ran with a new sense of urgency, though without Stormlight, he felt slow in his run.
  22. The guard looked at the two of you, trying to hold back his fury. "Just- Gah! Come with me! Do you want to be left here to be taken hostage or something?" He exclaimed.
