That makes perfect sense. I remember thinking the drawing was a comic book version of my viewpoint. It also explains why I was so disconnected with Shallan's drawings being yours. If that was a challenge for you I can't tell. It looks so effortless.

Is she into fantasy? I would figure out what types of things interest her and go from there. My husband doesn't like fantasy novels, so I try to get a wide range of things for him to read.

Man, you guys are awesome over here.

Welcome! I love seeing the different cloaks people make! I can't wait to see yours. -
I remember the first work I saw of yours was the Vin drawing. It seemed a little off my vision of her but breathtaking nonetheless. I'm even more excited about AoL now!

That is almost the exact explanation given to me when I learned about discrepancies in the Bible. I'm not expecting a serious discussion on that. Back on topic - I knew you were going to do some sketches for a book Ben, I didn't realize it was this one. The sketches from Shallan caught my eye the most during my reading - beautiful work!

Are you describing WoK or the Bible?

He's on my list after I finish Weeks, Rothfuss and at least one from Bujold. I haven't seen a lot of "ordinary" people in fantasy books. I'm glad to hear more recommendations though.

Yes, there is some malware but nothing compared to the Windows OS. I should have put the word "virtually" in that sentence.

I cross stitch from time to time. I would love to learn how to knit. I have a sewing machine but I've only used it on some hem issues. Sprite Stitch is a pretty neat site - video game inspired sewing crafts for the most part.

I think this is the most annoying thing about Windows dev teams. Older people (coughmyparentscough) can't seem to find their normal options if they are moved even slightly. The new OS becomes something that is a pain for them to use and I end up getting phone calls from extremely frustrated people. It's pointless for them to completely learn new ways when they could learn a new OS. I would rather put Linux on their machines. Most people tend to only use it their machines for a browser and office software which open office can cover. Another plus - no virus issues.

Did anyone find this intro a little odd?

I've got a screen shot of the one from my iPhone if you want one.

Hah yeah that's me! I figured most people would realize it when I use my first name on the boards.

Awesome - thanks! I've been curious if anyone around here was a goodreads member. I joined and from time to time add sporadically add books I've read.

Visual puns sounds like an interesting topic. I think that's why I liked Piers Anthony so much even though his tales were a tad bit childish. The puns give his stories thought provoking twists.

I would say if the designs are lighter than the table it would make them "pop". The insert picture you have is amazing! I would love to learn about woodworking. I've been debating getting a lathe one of the years to start a trying to turn.

I bought a Kindle and then purchased a Nook 2 to try. Kindles have features like text to speech, an experimental web browser, the ability to play music, and the ability to use almost any format available. They both have the definitions that you can access on screen. They both have the same battery life, the same screen size ,the same price and use the same e-ink technology. Nooks have the ability to expand memory by popping in a mini SD card. To be honest, most files are so small the 70 books I have on my kindle don't make a dent in it's space. The Nook only takes 2 types of format (I believe, possibly 3). That is a moot point because of programs like Calibre that will allow you to format anything you have into any format either ereader will use. The biggest thing is that the Nook has an on screen touch feature. You can swipe the screen like a page and it will change it. You have the option of using the side buttons which compared to the kindle are a pain to use. The kindle has a keyboard on the device. The nook has a feature to pop up a keyboard as needed. So far in the last month the nook stopped responding to touch twice. Rebooting it appears to fix the issue but as far as stability goes the kindle is better. All in all it's what you prefer. Would you rather have a smaller device with touch screen? The downside being the file limitations and probability to have the device break. I've been using a wysiwyg editor to put brandons annotations together for ebooks. I'm still in the testing phase with some css kinks to work out. The Elantris works are 75% complete. Maybe if I'm lucky once it's done I can present it to Brandon and Peter and they will approve it's use/downloads for fans. P.S. If you're saying you don't want to purchase and just use an ereader from your computer then Calibre comes with an ebook reader. The formats don't matter. Find the cheapest price. If they are all the same price, purchase from a reputable dealer. Barnes and Noble or Itunes are reputable.

It looks like Michael Whelan won the hardcover award for The way of Kings. That is one incredibly talented man. His cover was breath taking so it's very well deserved! Story

Nah I think that four people play every day with me but the rest might play one word a day. I'm also bad about doing more than one thing at a time - hence all the flubs you see me make!

My husband never uses facebook and doesn't play WWF. Since the game only allows 20 at once I stole his account. I added you just now eerongal. I'll try you again mycoltbug I had to start SOM1better on this account for a rematch.

Welcome! Thank you for your service! Good luck with your writing. I'm excited to see more of the writing excuses team over here. I haven't been on this site long, but I haven't seen any of the usual nonsense I've noticed when people think they are anonymous.

I just created a 17th shard circle and added some of you

Welcome to the site! I think the non Mormons are definitely in the minority here! I was raised Catholic myself, in Catholic schools no less. I prefer not to talk about religion/politics to much because people become way to emotionally involved instead of logical. -
It's a shame that it happened. I assumed there was a lot of custom work into it that caused the update issues a long time ago. Thank you for your time and effort on the site. I think that the Sanderson forum was the most active that I saw there. A chance to archive like mycoltbug mentioned would be nice.
