    She knocked again, with a little more force. "Hello? Are you in there?"

    "Thank you." She nodded in respect before walking off. As she navigated her way to TAAron's room, she thought a bit about Tal. He was a bit of an authority figure in the clinic, yet he didn't abuse his power. She actually respected him, and in that way and a few others, he was different from any authority she'd ever experienced. Then again, the authorities she'd known were corrupt nobility, an evil self-appointed God and his ministry. She got to TAAron's door and knocked gently a few times. @The Aspiring Archivist

    "Yeah. If it's not too big a problem, could you tell me where TAAron is? I've been away for a while with no contact with anyone here, so I figure I'd check in with him, see how things are on this end."

    Aventine went looking for Tal. He's the doorman, so he's probably by the doors. Why didn't we just go there from the start? If he's not there, I'll head back to the courtyard. @Edema Rue

    She stifled her anger and turned back to Pic. "Think you can help us find Tal?" @Cash67

    Her eyes narrowed, but it wasn't quite a glare. "Watch a man who claims to be God murder thousands of innocent people in a public square and enforce attendance, making you watch it all. Then tell me how you feel about it."

    "He claims to be," Aventine said. "I'm reluctant to believe anyone who claims to be a god, big or little G, at this point. And I certainly don't trust them. I only made that wish out of necessity."

    "I remember that - I got here right as they were about to leave, I think. Before this idiot and I left, he was back here, and he was fine. Maybe Tal knows where he is, if we can find him."

    Aventine cocked her head but didn't acknowledge. "What's been going on here?" she asked Pic. @Cash67

    The bottle stopped on the way to her mouth again. It could be hard to tell when Jar Man was joking or serious.

    Aventine raised an eyebrow. She knew coke was a drug, but this was a drink, not a powder. Granted, the last drink she had accepted from Jar Man had given her disorientation and a minimap, it hadn't hurt her. She had no real reason to distrust the drink, and she figured Jar Man had probably wisened up to the point of not offering her drugs. "Sure." She took it and drank a bit. She'd had carbonated drinks before at balls, but this was much better than any of those. "This is actually really good."
