    There was a sad look in her eyes. "Believe me, I really am sorry. But I don't think any of us want to see her hurt." She sighed and stood up, helping him up too. "Pull Pic aside and tell him we talked."

    Intercom just said for staff to read an email announcement. "Someone died," I said.

    And yep, two people were found dead over the weekend. One dead for unknown reasons, and another was stabbed in the chest apparently.

    It's sad that I knew what the announcement was about before the staff read it. We've had too many things like this over the last two years. There was one earlier this month, and at one point last year, we had three emails like this within a week, one for cancer and two for suicide.

    I really wish this world wasn't the way it is.

      The world do be a storming hell of a broken place. It sucks. I wish I had words of hope (unintentional pun achieved), but I don’t. There is good, but it’s not the default, and that makes me more angry and annoyed than almost anything else.

    Don't worry about that, a female voice said in both their heads. Kavho and I will bring you to us. She knelt down and put a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry. Really. But she's been through a lot in her life, only some of which she's told you. Right now, she thinks Pic is the best thing in her life for the past six years. And, she was raised specifically to be attractive by a horrible father. It would just confuse her, and ultimately hurt her mental state."
