The room was sterile and mostly empty. “You were extremely dehydrated, though you seem to be responding well to treatment. We’ll release you into the tribute center under observation and if all goes well you’ll have the final interview in two days.”
She’d gone randomly through the crowd. She paused when she realized she’d circled back to that guy.
She closed her eyes and frowned. Urilo wants people to work with him to change this place. Punching random people probably won’t get that to happen.
She clenched a fist and walked up while his back was turned. “Didn’t mean to punch you.” It still sounded a bit angry. Whatever.
She didn’t look too long at any one person. Glances, listening for a whisper here and there. She glared at the same rooftop somewhere behind her a few times.
Her posture was extremely guarded as she moved through everyone. She kept her hood pulled over the corner of her mouth.
But in the short moment he had seen her face, there was a scar from a bite on her mouth. A bite from a person.
She stumbled back, watching him. Eventually she muttered something along the lines of, “Yeah, right. But.. yeah, fine. Me too.” She turned to keep going.
