"Well you can't have Sharuel, he's my little buddy." Sharuel chirped from his perch on the boats side-railing.

"Yeah! It's really nice!" July replied, kicking his horse into a trot. He followed the short stretch of road left before the outskirts of the city. "I hate being cold," August mumbled, pulling his collar up. He seemed far less tired though, likely due to getting sleep the last few nights. "Doesn't that hurt your hands?" August asked.

"Guns are more exciting then boats," Sharlin mumbled to herself. "True . . . I just thought we'd better make sure we have one before tackling the open sea." She held out a hand to help him on the boat.

"Does anybody have one of those mental shielding birds?" Sharlin asked as she climbed back in.

Sharlin also hops off, and runs to were she stashed her bag. "Look what we got!" She told Winter as she ran past. @Lord Spirit

"That's a relief, I'm not confident in steering this thing." Sharlin held out a hand to help him aboard.

(Retconning her getting out of the boat), Sharlin experimentally turns the boat on, and tries steering it towards Squall.

"BUT NOW I HAVE GUN!" Sharlin hopped out of the boat, and started carefully pushing it towards the pool. Hopefully she could steer it out to the coast from here.

A few days of traveling north through the quiet farmland, and they hand finally made it to Truehearth. July pulled his horse to a stop as he crested a hill, looking down at the city-scape. "I've never been to Truehearth before," He commented, breath puffing a little in the chilly morning air. August nodded from his own horse, reigns in one hand and a book in the other. "THERE'S A GUN!" Teenage girls and their strange obsessions. "It's so pretty!" Sharlin bent over and carefully picked it up. She sat on one of the seats and started examining the craftsmanship. Umm Sharlin there's also a note that looks important. She picked it up and read it, scrunching her face up. "Aaaaw, he says I can't kill anyone . . ." THANK THE SURVIVOR It's not like she'd been planning on a murder spree, but she doubted this game would be as easy if she couldn't attack anyone first. She'd accept the deal, though, she wasn't so stupid that she'd pass up an opportunity like this. "Why's he so set on me being a hero, anyway?" It says you might be able to guess his intentions . . . maybe he's a spy or something and he wants to overthrow the big bad government? "No he's been too harsh for that, 'only one can survive' and all. I don't think he's planning a rebellion, at least not one based in the arena." I do find it a bit odd that'd he'd choose you, I mean, you'd think there'd be other tributes who are more honorable. Forrest wouldn't have to bribe them not kill people. "Maybe it's my experience or something, I have gone into an arena and come back out alive, even if I wasn't a tribute." True. "Hey there!" Sharlin calls from the boat.

Ha! See? The boat is fine, nice people do exist. "You realize the person you're defending is in charge of a murder tournament, right?" I wasn't thinking that far . . . Sharlin snorted, and stepped fully into the boat, examining the inside.

She stared at the boat suspiciously. Looks fine to me! "It might be rigged with explosives . . ." Oh, so now your being careful? "It just feels too easy, that's all," Sharlin swung her leg over the edge of the boat, testing out the bottom with her foot. "Forrest made a big deal about 'surviving this long' and we haven't run into anything dangerous." What if he's just being nice. "I'm too jaded to believe in nice people, just like The Survivor,* you figure out they aren't real once you get old enough." But I'm nice! "In an annoying way, see? So you're not actually nice, your overbearing, which is completely different." That was mean, even for you "I just told you nice people don't exist!" She smirked to herself.

meh, I'm alright, I just slouch a lot and have really weak core muscles. I spend all day crumpled over a computer which certainly doesn't help. Yeah, I did a set specifically for helping with back pain.
