He turned, still seeming tired. "Yeah, sure, what's going on?" He found a few small empty glass jars, a little strip of flint, and a couple of metal toothpicks.

Found it. "Yaaay! I can't believe it survived!" Sharlin double-checked the water for suspicious shadows before diving in to go after it.

Huh, that's really weird (like I said in my edit, looks like he's an exception) It is what it is I guess!
-
men also don't re-incarnate . . . let me look stuff up . . . Edit: Looked it up and I guess he just does anyway? That's kind of weird, but I don't believe that that part of the story is very solid or hammered out by Tolkien, just an outline.

Sharlin sat up on the tree. "WE DIDN'T DIE," She gasped. That you did not "HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHhAHAHAH. Anyway, Sharp could you look around and see if you can find our boat, if it's not smashed up?" Sure, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. She shrugged. It was worth looking.

Aaaah yes Finrod my (also) beloved But Turin is a man and men don't go to the Halls of Mandos? And Feanor doesn't have the silmarils?
-
it's okay lol, I just have to defend my boy, y'know??? Aren't half of those characters dead by that time? Or are you talking about the War of Wrath?
-
I'm sorry I'm so sorry BUT FINGON DOESN'T HAVE A PERSONALITY?? Fingon who wore ribbons in his hair to war? Who gave up everything for his family? Who could not forsake his cousins even if they'd done evil because he still loved them? Who's song was so heartbreaking the eagles came to his aid? Who was so deeply loyal that he got himself killed? "His valour was as a fire yet steadfast as the hills of stone; wise he was and skilled in voice and hand; troth and justice he loved and bore goodwill to all, both Elves and Men, hating Morgoth only; he sought not his own, neither power nor glory, and death was his reward." That Fingon? He is such a different character from his father????? That's the 'Morgoth might come back at the end' battle right? What does that have to do with Feanor directly? I'll admit, I don't know much about it

Wellll I disagree because a lot A LOT of the characters in the book end up appearing in other books and works where they are fully fleshed out. Turin has his own book, Beren and luthien have their own book, Numenor and it's characters has it's own book, Gondolin and it's characters has it's own book, etc. So yes, some of the characters in the Silmarillion end up being more like historical figures then characters but a good deal of the important people have their own story because Tolkien wrote more stuff about them. And I would argue that even the small characters in the Silmarillion that don't do much and don't appear anywhere else are still really good on most occasions. My favorite Tolkien character is Maglor, and he really only appears in the Silmarillion, and has a small role there too. But Tolkien is still able to make him interesting and engaging, giving hints to his personality and ideologies without actually sitting down and telling his story. Or Nerdanel, who is another very interesting character who plays a very small role.

Nera watched this unfold, and let Eublech leave, it was probably best. She ran a hand over her face, thinking. "Fine, if you insist on telling them, we'll go with your plan. For the record I don't like it, but if you insist, let's just go to Morduno and see if we can find anyone that knows what's going on. Send your letter."

"Woah I didn't mean to . . . I just hate it when people assume things about me," September said quietly as she stormed off, clearly surprised. August was still seating at the table with June and July.

TYYY Okay he's like a bad person obviously but I love him because he's so so so well written and his characterization is so strong even though everything in the Silmarillion is a summary, and his death is so perfect I love it so much AHHHHHHHHHH "Of Finwë" cause Finwë was a guy who had kids, it's kinda like surname for his decedent's but it's not exactly a surname Most of my fav characters are Finwëan, hence why I used it as a username Wish I had thought to do Feanorian instead, but next year I suppose heheheheheheh tyyyyyy

yeeeah, her hair is special though because it has the light of the trees in it, so it makes sense Yeah, Fëanáro is 'spirit of flame,' he's such an icon, I love him

"I can sit down on my own," September replied a little curtly, "I'm not a child." He let go of her hand and successfully found and sat at his own table without really stumbling. He could handle himself in more basic indoor settings fine enough, it seemed.
