  1. I guess he'll wander in again. Nogard saw a man he may have seen before, average-looking but holding up a metal staff that must have been very heavy.
  2. TAAron looked at her there, feeling a quiet warmth fill him that he had forgotten for a long time. You're beautiful. He didn't say it aloud, but she heard it well enough. @The Halcyon Girl
  3. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer. He felt like there was more to say but he had trouble articulating the words. He hoped she understood anyway.
  4. I guess so? I just really don't know what's going on and I don't have the energy to figure it out right now.
  5. "Thank you for coming back," he said quietly. "I got so caught up in remembering and all that I don't think I ever said that."
  6. "No. I just need some rest, I think."
  7. He quietly took some and began eating.
  8. "I'm fine, just tired." Lerac winced and nodded. "It is. But I can handle it."
  9. "I can go with you. I'll manage." He shakily stood up.
  10. "It's alright. I'm immortal, after all. It just hurts."
  11. TAAron noticed the hesitation. "What is it?"
  12. Lerac shrugged, --- "That might be best."
  13. Lerac gave him a tight smile. "Anyway, I'm on leave right now. But I'm going to need to get back to work. Being disconnected from him for too long is bad for me." --- TAAron waited a while before answering. "I guess I could use some food. I need to sit down soon, anyway. Bit lightheaded." He reluctantly pulled back from the hug. Unfortunately his knees were weak and he nearly fell before catching himself on her again. "Sorry."
  14. Lerac nodded solemnly. "I'll talk to him. I can't guarantee you'll be able to, but I'll try."
  15. "Who, exactly?" Lerac still seemed to be in pain, but he looked at her with a focused and serious expression.
  16. "Don't worry about it. It's very unlikely that I will kill you. Hardly any more likely than anyone else you meet." --- He leaned into the embrace, needing it as a physical support and not just an emotional one. "I don't know."
  17. Lerac frowned. "What might that be?" He also looked at Veyendis. "Yes. I'm Death's avatar. It's complicated." --- "Mostly."
  18. "It's life magic. Fueled with a divine level of energy." Lerac looked at Aventine as plants once again started springing up around him. "You may be right." --- After a moment, he nodded. "Okay. But are you alright?"
  19. Veyendis again saw no result. Any healing he gave to Lerac was returned to him along with a torrent of Lerac's own power. "Yes, I'm fine. I-" he shuddered, and the cut closed, stopping the flow of fresh blood that was already staining his shirt. --- He could tell that she was shaken by what he had done. "I... I can go. I'm sorry."
