  1. "Didn't I almost die? Isn't that why I'm in constant pain? I..." TAAron's eyes glazed over as they had frequently before. He began falling... And fell off the cliff towards the void below.
  2. "Fine. So how do we make ourselves unconscious and trick someone into launching us in?" TAAron overlooked the cliff that dropped off into the churning void. "You say that like you have died. If you did, how are you still... here?"
  3. TAAron sighed, then began eating. "I don't know... if we intentionally throw ourselves into that thing, it won't matter if we're conscious or not, right? Like, if I throw this rock..." TAAron threw one it, and it was destroyed in a flash of light. "That rock wasn't concious!"
  4. "But now I know the trick! How will we get it to work again?"
  5. "I... Oh." Light dawned in TAAron's eyes. "That was a cruel trick. I though I had ruined the machine!"
  6. TAAron yelped. "Oh no! I though you said that it was turned off!"
  7. "I really don't feel like I'm qualified for this. There's barely any slack on this rope!" Trying to get more rope to work with, TAAron tugged on both ends.
  8. "I... was? Alright." Cautiously, TAAron approached the rope, grabbing both ends and bringing them together. Awkwardly, he began trying to tie them together.
  9. Maybe... "Uh... I guess so. Why me?"
  10. I wish I could ask him myself. I wonder if his amnesia can be cured without healing his soul.
  11. Oh. And he abandoned it? Why? When I found him, he wasn't researching anything of that sort. It was "The Potential uses of Investiture-Dense Materials on Arealmatic Subjects, Chapter Two: Lerasium." Wait. Isn't that the thing he gave you a bead of?
  12. He used to hate school, actually. I wonder why he became a scholar.
  13. Ah. That explains a good deal. So he had an allergic reaction, you fought, and then you just became friends? I wouldn't have expected that. TAAron was sort of the reserved type back... back then.
  14. Since he left our... homeworld. Describe to me what this metal burning does. Do you know how or why he can do it?
  15. You don't know? I find it pretty confusing, myself. It's a small metal spike that must somehow avoid hitting any major internal organs, which is very unlikely given its placement. It seems to have some sort of effect on his soul, although it's hard to understand. A lot of things confuse me about his soul, actually. It's practically in pieces, but has a lot of weird connections and properties. Has something changed about him since he left?
  16. Burning metals? Does that have anything to do with the spike in his stomach?
  17. You sparred with him immediately after he had an allergic reaction? I imagine he didn't put up much of a fight. You have abilities, he's pretty much normal.
  18. "That's helpful. Let's just try to avoid blowing anything up."
  19. No reason, I suppose. Tors paused, as though thinking. I never asked. How did you meet TAAron? How did you two become friends?
  20. "Alright. Are you sure there isn't anything wrong?"
  21. "Impale? I don't think I've ever... did I impale myself before?"
  22. "Wynn, is everything okay? You seem... frustrated, maybe?" TAAron had been standing mostly silent by the side until then.
  23. I can't hold anything. And what was that just now about TAAron?
  24. "That's interesting. Perhaps he's scholar type." It was. Nothing that can be done now, though.
