  1. "Okay, okay. I can't find anyone for some reason. Maybe they've evacuated? I don't think we'll be able to make it to the city. Oh, no." Tristan began hyperventilating. "What have I done? What have I..." He sank to his knees. "Maybe you should go. Save yourself while you can." Suddenly, TAAron's form began to glow, becoming brighter and brighter until he disappeared in a flash of light. "No! What happened?"
  2. "What? You're leaving? What about TAAron? He needs help!"
  3. "What? What is it?" The boy sounded remarkably like TAAron, only younger. He kept looking into windows. "Malum curse it! Well, I guess he already has..."
  4. "I..." Tristan now looked even more confused. "Tors can speak to TAAron? I asked her if she could, but she always said she couldn't. I always felt like she was lying, though. And who's Wynn?" They entered the town, and Tristan looked into house windows as they went by. "That's funny. I don't see anyone."
  5. "I'm Tristan. And I have no idea if he's going to be okay! So you know Tors? Who is she, then?" Tristan looked suspicious, clearly uncertain that she was telling the truth. They were nearly at the edges of the town.
  6. "What?" The boy looked taken aback. "How do you know Tors? What's you name? I don't think Bonum mentioned a middleworlder as one of his people."
  7. "I... why are you out here? There's a storm! Is anyone else outside, because they need to go in." Softly, but still barely audibly, the boy continued, "If that thing can take Tors, who knows what it might do when it gets here."
  8. "Woah." The boy blinked, looking confused. "Where did you come from? Who are you? I don't recognize you from the town."
  9. TAAron remained unresponsive, breath shallow. Suddenly, someone knelt down next to Haly. It was the boy. "TAAron, are you okay? What happened?" The boy didn't even seem to notice Haly. He began struggling to lift TAAron, as though to drag him away to the town nearby.
  10. The rift on the horizon had expanded significantly, now appearing to be about the size of one of the large storm clouds in the sky around it. "Alright then." TAAron didn't sound very enthusiastic either. "See you soon, I h-" Lightning struck again, this time directly on TAAron. Despite the whole world only being a dream, the scholar collapsed to the ground, not remotely singed but unmoving.
  11. "Okay." He let go and took a small step back, slightly red in the face. "So now what? I don't know if I can wake up on command or anything."
  12. "If you say so." He sighed. "Look, if it'll make you happy, I'll tell you what I know about my prison, but it's not much. I got pulled in from the void, and now I'm in what kind of looks like an office building. That's all. I don't know if Nameless can somehow track whatever traces of magic may have been left behind. Just be as careful as you can around stuff that the manipulator has tampered with. I don't know who he is or what he's capable of. If Nameless can't find me, well, I hope this guy doesn't kill me immediately. It would be a shame to miss out on so much." He sat silent for a moment. Then, suddenly, he stood and seized Haly by the shoulders. "Whatever you do, whatever happens, remember this. I'm not worth dying for." Tears welled up in his eyes. "Please be careful." Then, he hugged her.
  13. "How can you stand to be so positive? People die all the time. Sometimes, you can't do anything about it. I'm... glad I was able to do something worthwhile with myself." TAAron paused, taking a deep breath. "I'm sorry. I... I think I just care too much about you to watch you keep suffering for my sake. But if you're going to insist on trying to help me, I suppose I can't stop you. "And... thank you for being such a good friend to me. I would already be dead without you. You gave me more time, and I'm glad I got to spend it with you."
  14. Haikus are quite cool I haven't written many But I try my best
  15. "Alright. You ready for the next one, or do you want to take a break?"
  16. "Oh, you're back. He copied down one of the runes, and it turns out it was the rune for force. He got thrown across the room."
  17. "You are absolutely certain? Because if you're lying to me I'll break your arm myself."
  18. "I... I..." Antin looked very worried. "Can you heal yourself, or should I try?"
  19. Yes I also enjoy roleplaying very much. And apparently, I like putting my characters through physical and emotional trauma.
  20. "Got it." Individually, Antin copied out the runes. He handed the papers to Quest.
  21. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa why is what how.

    Tht is all.

  22. "Will you stop when I'm dead? Because I... I'm practically living dead at this point. It doesn't matter how good of a friend I am once this soul damage or the manipulator or whatever finally catches up with me. And what do you mean, 'even if there were nothing else?'"
  23. "Why do you care so much? How can I make you stop? I've told you, I'm not worth it! Not your help, not your friendship." Lightning struck again nearby. The rift seemed to be expanding.
