    Interesting. Didn't you mention having some similar interest in TAAron before? Do you feel differently now? How often do such feeling change? Is it- Tors stopped, as if catching herself from rambling too much further. I don't think I've seen any cards, no.

    TAAron swallowed. "I'll go." He stepped forward into the tower.

    Lerac whistled. "Wow. These people know how to set an atmosphere." Looking apprehensive, TAAron asked, "So... who's going first?"

    From behind Nameless, Lerac laughed. "Really? That's hilarious! Well, go ahead then."

    "So, what's our immediate strategy? Should we expect to have to fight something right away, or just every once in a while?"

    Honestly, I just kind of imagine everyone as their profile pictures. So like, @Ookla the Floofy is a fluffy cat, and @Ookla the BlowUpperOfStuff is a girl that looks something like that silhouette suggests. And @Ookla the 3 Frogs ina Coat is Szeth... facepalming. I don't know. Is it normal to imagine the faces and real appearance of people online? Am I just weird? Probably. Is this something that I should be actively trying to discern?

    I just realized that I COMPLETELY missed my 1000 posts milestone. Oh well.

    TAAron looked over at her conspicuously. How did I manage to find someone like her? Noticing the look, Lerac snorted, barely restraining himself from making a witty comment.

    "Oh. He's a bit conniving, isn't he?" He glanced over at Lerac suspiciously. Turning back to Haly, and suddenly feeling awkward again, he continued. "Well, I guess we'll be going soon." He made his way back towards Nameless and the others. "Alright. Uh... is everyone ready to go?" @Ookla the Untitled @Ookla the Obstinate @Ookla the Unknowing

    He released her, looking surprised. "Lerac? He, uh... asked me how I felt about you. How did you know?"

    "That's fine by me." Nervous, shaking, and yet happier that he'd been in years, TAAron pulled Haly into a tight embrace.

    He smiled warmly. "It's a bit of a paradox, actually. I want you to stay away and be safe, but at the same time it would hurt to leave you." He took her hand again. "For five years, I had let myself stay in the cold, logical side of my mind. It was what I needed then. But it was miserable. "You're what I need now."

    "I... guess not. If you really do care." His eyes were hopeful, almost pleading.

    "I think so. You'll be... well, less likely to die."

    A smile came to his face, though somehow it was still slightly sad. "See, now I know it's real. Because if I was dreaming, you would have agreed to stay."

    A look of realization came to his eyes. "Haly, you should stay here when we go into the tower. You'll be safer that way."

    That's vague. As much as TAAron wanted to stay in the moment, he felt himself withdrawing to the logical part of his brain. The part that was telling him it was all a lie. After all, why wouldn't it be? How couldn't it be? He released her hand and sat back, eyes still locked on hers.
