      the average this winter has been around -15 (low) to 5 (high), though there have been some 30-40 days lately (today was 2 degrees

    He let out an unearthly scream. Wisps of energy began floating away, escaping the attack.

    He turned to her, bright eyes widening in fear. "How... I killed you!" N-No. Not yet.

    Don't know. Tors fell into her hand, feeling unusually weighty.

    A voice finally could be heard, sounding twisted and broken. W-Wynn? Is that---

    "I don't know. I'll try." Tors gave no response. She hadn't spoken in many hours.

    "Wynn, what if we can't find a permanent solution?" He wiped his eyes, clearing them. He looked across the room at the other encounter. "Is that... Malum?"

    "Do you have a permanent solution?" His body momentarily seemed to reject the energy, and he began convulsing again for a few seconds before it Shadows reached him again.

    "As soon as I can. Go, and tell Emma to stay away from my targets."

    He began breathing normally again. "That... really hurts." "Great. Go ahead and leave, and I'll deal with him."

    He gasped as the energy hit him, and his breathing resumed normally for a moment. "I..." "Why should I help you?"

    "Or none of those." Another blast of energy knocked her back. "I... I..." His breathing grew shallow, and his eyes began to glaze over.

    "Wynn..." Lerac's eyes filled with tears, and he stared up at her. The flower began to wilt. "I believe Kaos would want to use him, not let him die."
