    I mean, it was sort of a good thing and a bad thing. Good because it helped me respect my teachers more than most others and made me a better student maybe (seriously, though, if there was a sub I was the only one who had any respect). But also bad because I always was given the load of work during group projects and there were just a lot of expectations that I began to hold to myself that may not have been healthy. It's probably (definitely) at least partially related to the stress I feel in school nowadays. Which is a lot, and hasn't been good for my mental health.

    Yeah, there are certain settings where insane pressure is put on athletes because there's a little too much school spirit. In my case, I happened to be the one who was most interested in school in general as well as a lot of the nerdy stuff and I had good grades and always answered questions etc. When you're in a small school, the label becomes "smart kid" day one and suddenly everyone thinks you're gonna cure cancer or something.

    HAHAHAHA Sorry. In my specific case, it became a reason for a lot of pressure and expectations throughout most of my school career.

    I need to either sleep or die, but I probably shouldn’t do either.

    Well, I promise you aren't. We all value you, and I'm sure there are others out there who do as well. You don't hurt anyone by being around, in fact, you help.

    Depression should never be something you just have to manage. Seek out help if you can get it, specially if you are feeling suicidal. If you're in the U.S., the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is 988. I'm sorry sorry you're going through that struggle. A conflict of identity and belonging is one of the hardest to work through. I'm sure many other people give give better advice than I could on that. We are all here for you. Don't hesitate to reach out whenever. *hugs*
