  1. "Okay." Variance's eyes, though still spilling blood, had turned from gray to a vibrant violet.

  4. "So, what now? What exactly is our goal?"
  5. Their form fuzzed momentarily, and the blood that had been in their eyes fell to the ground. "These things... are still hard to speak of. Truthfully, there are some things that I would rather not answer as well. About my past."

That wasn't quite enough, clearly." They had come into full focus now, though they still had that odd quality in their vision.
  9. "Part of my curse. After some time away, I should be able to change. Probably." The voice spoke from Variance's mouth now, instead of through the static.
  10. I understand that I am somewhat... unsightly. My apologies.
  11. The form sharpened further. The skin was pale, and seemed to be lit from beneath. The face looked like that of a young man, except for the blood streaming from gray eyes.
  12. Variance's form began to return, extremely fuzzy at first, but sharpening. Black cloak, bloody eyes. @Szeth_Pancakes @Channelknight Fadran

  14. Variance said nothing, but his presence remained visible. A small pool of blood had formed on the ground near a wall.
  15. Variance did so, following as a scattered patch of strange, fuzzy spot at the edge of their vision.
  16. Thank you. You have no idea how long I've been hoping for this. Some of the emotion Variance had displayed in the chase crept back into their voice, though this time profound relief instead of torment and agony.

  18. I am not a ghost, nor am I a man. Again, the voice was no annoyed. It simply made a statement. I will be freed if you take me willingly from this world.
  19. What is the reason for establishing these conditions? I feel I should tell you that I am in no way bound to any promises I make in exchange for freedom. I don't believe I ever said anything about my power. But I can try to protect you.
  20. Four. The voice did not seem confused or annoyed. It simply answered.
