    Variance disappeared for a few minutes, then reappeared holding an object that Ayia recognized as a sort of wall clock. "Is this one?"

    "We sure can't get it to you right now. Anyway, I don't think our objective here is to fight."

    "Well, yes. I could basically 'invisify' anything, although it's one of the more difficult things to do. It's strange, because when I was cursed, it was much easier not to take a form. After all, I'm not really here, so the Perception I'm creating is my presence. Any yet... now it doesn't feel that way. I have to put effort into going invisible, even though that's just a redundant second layer of sorts."

    I had a random idea for some sort of short story about about 2 AM. I'm not sure whether I really want to try writing it, though.

      That’s an awesome idea, and you’re totally capable of it, but if you don’t want to you don’t have to. 

      and if you don’t want to write it but still want to read it, I’ll write it for you. Can’t make any promises on quality, though.

    Ayia also went dark as soon as she was in the open. "Let me know if this is hard to manage." Variance's voice was someone still crystal clear in the emptiness of space. "We can afford to keep a few things on your person visible, probably."

    Variance raised and eyebrow and suddenly, where he had been, there was a pitch-black silhouette. "This is pretty easy to do, and should make us far harder to see against space."

    "I do Perception. That's it. I'm not some sort of warlock. And I didn't actually trap you anywhere."

    "I'm still not convinced that it's a good idea for any of us to go alone. I imagine I could still just disguise you, since you're the only one they might recognize."
