    Variance glanced at the other two, unsure as to what to do.

    Variance opened his eyes. In a moment, he was by Pyro, holding the strange dagger to him. "Who are you, and why are you here?"

    Variance paused, frowning. He closed his eyes. A moment later, Ayia's heart apparently stopped.

    "Well, given that I'm not really alive... anyway, what do you want me to try?"

    "Er... what's that?"

    "So the question is, can I affect the perception of a machine? How could we test that?"

    "Well, it influences perception. I'm not actually sure how much of an effect that would have on detection mechanisms. But I could probably make the ship invisible for a short while, or make it look like something else."

    "It's strange. Sometimes I feel tired, like I should sleep. But then, after a while, it goes away. Maybe I just feel like I should, so I do."
