  1. They sighed. "Alright. Just don't be disappointed when it fails." They spoke with an air of grim acceptance.
  2. "I very much doubt you can. I have looked for quite a long time to find something or someone to heal myself. Most were out of reach, and all agree that my condition is now past the point of no return." They lowered their hood, exposing a head and face with indistinct features, form dilapidated and emitting the same smoky light.
  3. "A very ill person with the opportunity to help."
  4. The figure grabbed him arm again, but this time their hand actually exited the cloak, skin making contact. The person's hand was smoking light. A sense of immense calm flooded him, dimming his pain and weakening his resolve. "Another chance."
  5. "This is not peace. This is pain."
  6. The cloaked figure was still there, just standing.
  7. Then, the world shifted. As he began to fall, everything seemed to tilt, so what was once back became down. He ended up sprawled on the edge of the canyon, somehow back where he started. How that possibly could have worked spatially was lost to him in the disorientation.
  8. The figure went silent, and let him go, stepping away.
  9. "It is not." They said it simply, factually.
  10. "They would have been hurt anyway. And more people would have been, if you weren't there."
  11. "You haven't made things worse. You healed them. I saw you."
  12. "You're wracked with guilt. But this won't fix anything for them, you know. And anything you could do to make it better can't happen if you die."
  13. "Someone who likes to give people a second chance."
  14. "You shouldn't do that," the figure said.
  15. Someone grabbed his arm and pulled him back. It was a figure cloaked in dark gray and black.
  16. The figure walked out of sight.
  17. A figure in a dark cloak stood nearby. It might have been watching him, but it was impossible to tell. Their face was hidden beneath a hood.
  18. No, because if I'm aroace something like that will more than likely never happen.
  19. I've never even had a crush on anyone, my friend. At least I don't think so. I'm probably aroace.
  20. No... that character is very much not like me in certain senses, including the one involved in that quote.
  21. "That's true." They began to wander around, but didn't find a trace of Mike. @Rallohir
  22. "Yeah. You can get breakfast, and I'll start looking around." She got off the bed and headed for the door.
  23. "Healing magic, really cares about Eddie and blames himself for losing her. He was trying to run away after the fight yesterday."
  24. "Maybe..." Vena regretfully pulled away from Rallohir, sitting up. "Did... we convince Mike to stay? I got so caught up in everything that I kind of forgot about him."
